This is the second time that a Wyvern Air Ambulance has crashed. There was a previous episode where a tent got tangled up in the tail rotor, and brought the helicopter crashing to earth. The dust that was flung up all around looked CGI.

Wasn't the helicopter crash the first ep of 30th series as it was the 30th anniversary special not the 31st series ep 1 ?

No it was Series 31, airing 30 years after Series 1. Series 30 Episode 1 was the aftermath of Zoe and Max's wedding and Charlie had his heart attack. Duffy made a guest appearance.
