  • A photograph captures a moment in time, so how can we infuse life, energy and motion into our frames?
There is no one setting or approach to capturing motion. Do you want to freeze the action? Do you prefer to purposefully blur the subject to create a sense of time? Perhaps you want to capture a series of images of the movement to be displayed together.
In this episode we will capture images bursting with liveliness as I photograph an athlete and dancers in ways that allow me to play with motion. We try freezing with strobe, blur with shutter drag, stroboscopic effects and more… all with a goal of exciting and energy-filled images!

A slow shutter speed for creative purposes is called a shutter drag.
