Hi, a Bangladeshi here. It was really sad to see when all of these events were happening. Even though I don't like Pubg, battle royale games or mobile games, I still think those players did not deserve to go to jail. Thank you, Akshon for spreading this news and message.
Agreed! I also follow “the other esports channel” but lately they’re so focused on useless, non gamer Twitch streamers drama and Valorant content that I only watch Akshon at this point. Their quality is amazing :)
@@agoniavr Yeah, it can get tiresome how insular gaming as a hobby can be at times. Especially with how China is extremely racist and hostile towards literally every one. No wonder this genuinely gonna got worse. Especially China is extremely working hard to makes their cultural export from mobile games, case in point genshin impact.

Politics is deciding what the future of the world should be. Everything that matters is eventually (often quickly) touched by politics, even the games we play to avoid politics.
On the flip side, not banning it would risk losing support from India. They’d rather stick with India since that’s who’s been mostly helping them (and who they’re surrounded by)

@@TiredWallaby29 Those 23 loans were reportedly mature no-interest loans anyways. Since they launched the Belt and Road Initiative in 2013, they've forgiven just $422.2 million USD... low-income MENA countries are collectively *hundreds of billions* of dollars in debt to China, which is giving out loans with higher interest rates and shorter repayment terms than IMF loans. It may not be predatory lending per se, but it's irresponsible. The debt levels are unsustainable so they'll either need to be restructured or China will economically colonize these countries.
Really, because it looks like China is still handing out high interest loans to the “third world”. They forgive some loans yes, but not all of them and definitely not enough to make the debt manageable for most of those countries.
You should probably know that "debt-trap diplomacy" Is not a real thing and has been debunked multiple times. Also, Sri Lankas situation can in no way be blamed on China due to their own bad policies leading to extremely big problems + the severe exploration by western countries, whose loans can be far more described as "debt-traps" Especially those from the IMF and USA which require literal structural changes to your country such as, demolishing worker's rights, enacting destructive neoliberal economic policies, privatization of public services and the selling of them to foreign companies among other things. China's loans do not require anything like that and the "debt trap" diplomacy has even been dismissed by neoliberal capitalism supporting news organisations.
Lmao, you must be those wumao soldier. So much misinformation in this paragraph that i can't even know where to begin 1st off: yes, debt trap might not be a thing. But it's still very clear that China want more than just money. They want to have a leverage over those country. Aka soft power 2nd off: the west demand structural change because those country have bad economic structure. As such, the west want them to change it so that they can actually make proper use of their money. And can pay them back. The fact that China doesn't require it just mean they don't care about losing money. And this lead to the 1st reason, China care more about soft power than actually helping those country
I'm not saying that the USA & IMF is some super benevolent lenders, or that China is totally evil. But it's crazy disingenuous to frame China's lending practices, which are irresponsible at best, as super far-removed from debt-trap diplomacy. Low-income countries are hundreds of billions in debt, on relatively high-interest loans, to a country controlled by an authoritarian government looking to assert its influence around the world. China has all the leverage, it's up to them how they use it or whether they use it, but don't act surprised that people are wary or suspicious of their recent lending behavior.
It's worth noting that The World Bank is like, also doing this but it just puts countries in debt to it and America owns most of it so in reality they need to do what America says. We can see what those loans have done to South American countries.
