The ippons were great but I have to say the MVP of the video was the french commentary , even thought I dont speak french. Last few years the english commentary, without Neil Adams, was so bad I had to watch every stream on mute. Good to see that its getting better on 2022. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for this! My favourite this time? I love the big Uchi-Matas of course like the next man does, but here I was stunned by that effortless-looking De-Ashi-Barai at 4:52 - incredible timing and instinct.
I hope you continuous post more videos like this. I love judo and the modern judo techniques is correct. The evolution of kataguruma show us the evolution with news rules .

Could you make a video explaining the rules and such Im new to judo and dont really know what makes things illegal and the general definition of an ippon all that stuff Keep up the amazing videos
3:20 i think It should score wazari. This because It lacks control, and thus doesnt check the boxes. Weird to lack only there, though lol Edit: on 4:40 i agree with you as Well. It IS illegal to intentionally post with the head
At a competition when I was a kid, my opponent had a game boy cartridge fly out of his gi and get disqualified for it. Can’t imagine pulling that at an international tournament!
On Hashimoto's sode tsurikomi goshi, the opponent is not really bridging, he's on his side, there's no real pressure on his neck whil he's doing it. Bridging is forbidden because it's dangerous, not really because you're avoiding the ippon. Therefore, here an ippon would be unfair because he faught not to take the fall and did not andanger his spine while doing it. He just roatated enough to avoid ippon
I’ve considered it, maybe I should give it a go. One problem is the time zones, and whether my family will allow it haha. But if the IJF wants to fly me out, I’d do it for free.
Wow, that tomoe nage not being an ippon was robbed. I can't figure out a way to perform a more convincing ippon in tomoe nage, solid throw and landing on the back with shoulders dipping, is there a different definition for ippon?
"I'm gonna call it seoi otoshi, because his knees are on the ground..." Seoi means to carry on one's back, Tai means body, otoshi means to drop and nage means throw. That being said a kneeling Tai otoshi is just a tai otoshi that you dropped more than normal, which still is Tai Otoshi, call it kneeling Tai Otoshi if you may, but it definetely is not Seoi Otoshi.
First of all, I speak Japanese fluently and have lived here most of my life doing judo. The names of the techniques are not complete descriptions of what the techniques actually are. Think yama arashi for example. Also, what judoka in Japan call a seoi otoshi is not what the kodokan calls a seoi otoshi. In fact, I've never heard anyone call a something a seoi otoshi outside of what I call it. I've never heard of a kneeling tai otoshi (hizatsuki tai otoshi?). I'll make a video on it at some point, but a lot has to do with the attacking leg. It's somewhere between a seoi nage and a tai otoshi. This is what I mean: ua-cam.com/video/780NuzpDYLY/v-deo.html&ab_channel=FightingFilms You can see Iliadis do a standing version as well. ua-cam.com/video/v5nLpP_TUV8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=IvoStornaiuolo
Judo rules are fucked!!! Throw number three. How is this an ipon? White IS NOT thrown directly onto his back. He is on his face, then rolled over. Bad judo.

I'm guessing it would be a lot of work to make but I think a video describing each countries particular style of Judo would be fascinating to watch.
There's a channel called Chadi that analyses the different styles of judo.
Yeah Chadi's good. I've got a few ideas though.
yup you can find some videos about it already ;) But it would be good to have the point of view of this channel on this !
Came here to also comment about chadi. Great channel
Great commentary. "Rolls across his face. Which is always nice." Classic!
Haha. I’ve got a massive nose so I always remember those ones!
@@JudoHighlights2015 You have a massive nose? Me too! We should exchange nose-numbers
Just realized I didn't include the Papinashvili throw vs Mkheidze :(
It was wazari anyway, but might have been best throw, power was just incredible, whole match was incredible

Nice work. Appreciation is spot on. Showing the occasional hansokumake is edifying to this old judo bum. Gave up trying to keep track of rule changes.

Welcome to the club.
1st video of a smartphone fell off judogi made my day. Never seen it before.
I’ve seen it twice, in my long history of watching pretty much every judo video
2:20
Just keeping a bookmark for myself :)
13:19 looks very simple... but amazing
Yeah it' a game of balance fight.
According to the new rules 8:28 should be a wazari to white and a shido to blue?
I need to reexamine the rules. I'm so confused.
good training and good play
Love your videos. Great work keep it up. Also are you Aussie?

7:40 can someone explain why the blue took the ippon?
Cause white applied an illegal technique

What did you mean about no hands on the ko uchi makikomi.
When he hits the mat he lets go of the gi with both hands. I thought it was funny.
Do they not have coach challenges in Judo tournaments?
Kim Polling at Osaka grand slam 2019 beat Niizoe and Arai before losing to Ono in the final!
Three would’ve been incredible
nice
Clarisse Agbegnenou has beaten 2 japanese in the same competition a few times
True! What about in the male categories?

Yeah

How would it be an ippon with no element of force?
@8:40. Dirty. Am I wrong?
7:38 isn't a kani basami. The fact if he didn't get a ippon for that is a joke. He didn't read the knee and ankle
definitely kami basami. I don't think it was intentional though, he just lost his balance on his supporting leg and happened to go in that direction.
If the person does a bridge on their side it is a wasa-ri but if it is a complete bridge ippon
make video on shoei ono
I’ve got many!
Can we not put uchi mata in highlights
What?! It's the greatest throw!
4:22 que demonic screams of the damned
Interesting to see someone trying Kani-basami these days - has been illegal for ages. OK, it may not have been fully on purpose...
I really don't understand how the mobile phone things KEEPS happening?!
it's quite funny.
