This is perfection to me. A home that slowly evolves over time, that meets the needs of a growing family. Areas that are more showy and areas that are designed to meet realistic family needs. I love the children's room, with all of its custom-made storage and the drawers under the master bed. I wish we could have seen the kitchen and bathroom. I don't mind unfinished spaces. It's reality and it's beautiful. Thank you for the tour ❤
as soon as I saw this incredible space, I had a feeling the owner may have been in design! it's just so absolutely GORGEOUS! reminds me of my grandmother's style- intentional yet still eclectic (my gma also loves mismatched dishware/ glasses, lots of books, plants + artwork), completely personalized, functional, beautiful, vintage without feeling dated + a bit maximalist while still feeling comfy n calm. Ajiri is as lovely as her apartment is as well, thank you for showing us your lovely home, can't wait to see the renovated kitchen/ bathroom!

The space the for children is tight but to have the opportunity to live in France and possibly easily travel to other countries is an education and a gift. Great future for them

Gorgeous!! I downsized from a house to a co op...since children grown. My co op is 750 sf. I decorated it to be Me. I wanted a 1930s Royal Typewriter and a 1960s phone and 1955 rollerskates.....mixed with a few antique school furniture...including a desk with an inkwell....then pop art on wall....everything mostly black, brown and grey....with some white and blue. I am also very neat and avoid clutter...there is a place for place for everything and everything in its place. I wish I could say all flows perfectly but not a decorator so feels it could be improved....and I was working with a budget....because did not want to overspend.
What a beautiful home. It is obvious the pieces were gathered with love and placed with care. JOIE. A perfect synonym for a happy home. And a wonderful name for a book.

The juxtaposition of the vintage china cabinet with all the mix-matched glasses and the projector (the best not-too-cool-to-admit-I-like Netflix gadget) is sublime. I'm a wee bit tired of the "must be European to embrace slow living" stereotype, but snaps to Madame for giving a fresh twist to the Emily in Paris trope.
Great apartment, and how you are using it! I lived in Europe for 6 years as a kid, and was able to embrace the European view on home living. Visited a number of German cities, as well as Paris, Barcelona, Switzerland, Austria, London, Edinburgh, etc. I'd be there again except I'm raising 2 special needs grandkids. I'm jealous!

A beautiful apartment! 1,100 sq ft in Paris is amazing! Apartments in Paris are more expensive than the average NYC apartment (depending on the district you are in) and she also has outside space! I love her eclectic style. It’s really hard to have a style that is too modern or contemporary in these buildings that are more than 200 years old that usually still have some original features.
