Such a beautiful village perched high up on the hill. We were going to make this a highlight of our Italy itinerary when we visit, but so many other parts of Italy caught our attention, and alas, it dropped off our itinerary not long ago. Instead, we opted for Sorano, not far from Civita. A breathtaking part of Italy, to be sure. I could spend a month just visiting the hilltop villages. Nice walk as always, and always great to see what you had for dinner! When are you going to show your face, so we can see your smiles and your reaction to the amazing food!

I'm following a YT American couple with young daughters, bought a small barn in Italian Alps and are renovating into a home. The work is backbreaking, I can't imagine how they built an entire village on a mountain hundreds of years ago and no modern tools. The restaurant remodeling alone is amazing.

@@WalkingAlice We stayed one night in an airB&B in the village. It was summer and the village was very quiet. I thought we were probablly the only tourists stayed overnight in the village as the day visitors have all left or stayed in the town nearby. I sat at the stairs in front of the church and looked at the moon in the sky. I could hear local people's talk, arguments and gigles. I felt that I was in an Italian movie, even though I was not the main character.
Who would have thought that all that was up there on that hill. There are some creepy guys on this walk. So many people look like they have never seen a camera before.
