- VALORANT are about to release their new controller agent Clove, and in this video I go over some of the interesting interactions they have with game mechanics and other agents, like whether or not you can revive yourself while suppressed, and if Brimstone's Stim Beacon, stacks with Clove's Pick me Up!

It would be so badass to revive yourself and defuse the spike when you're the last one standing... And die...
I think the time that it takes to defuse the spike is the same as the time window in which you have to kill someone so sadly even if it was allowed it would still be impossible
@@masteroox time to defuse is 7s the window is 12s so technically possible
you can only res urself if you are the attacker/you defend spike from being diffused so this isnt possible as defender/diffuser

So I think Riot has actually confirmed that you only get your free ult orb after death when the round ends, basically making it such that if you have 6/7 and you die you can't immediately self rez.
Does this apply to all agents or just clove. If it applies to all agents then reviving other agents with sage will result in no ult too.

@@Ei_Shogun I'm almost sure I have seen people gain ult when dying before Sage res. Weird interaction to have it different in both scenarios. Particularly because this means Cove will also not get her ult when she would get revived by Sage, which doesn't make any sense.

The revive after spike is planted will make things vety interesting in a 1v1 clutch situation

@joshuarenard3147 10 seconds till spike explodes and clove uses her ult she wins that easily because either the enemy sticks it and gets killed or has to chase down the clove and still lose the round
in the video you cant use your ult in a 1v1, the game won't let you

so its possible to get 7 kills in 1v7 against sage and clove...
Yyooo, think of normal 5 kills add one of phnx and then 1 of sage's rev and then 1 ofclove. Total 8 kills

@@1Tea6 but i think there is also a way for sage to res twice in a round. I think on fracture there are like 4 ult orbs, and she can place/defuse spike and get 3 kills. So it is possible to get an 8k now in a normal match (or 9k if we count phoenix ult)
@@snoxh2187 even on other maps, if sage takes 2 orbs plus kills you and you revive, plus your sage revives someone that enemy sage kills, is enough to get the 8 orbs needed get the 8k. that means in the perfect world on fracture, 11 kills is possible in spike rush
1:46 i think cloves revive state is only achievable if the round hasnt reach the end state. So even if the attacker puts the spike down, shes revivable cuz for that round to end the spike must be defused , but defender clove being killed means end state is reached

From what I've watched the ult seems to be the weakest ability in Clove's kit. Doesn't seem to be worth 7 ult points as the window after resurrection is very narrow to take a kill, kind of like a reverse phoenix. Everything else seems to be balanced.

I dont agree. There's specific type of situation where you should or not use your ult. That's why they give you a 2 seconds window to decide if it's worth a try to ult and try to get a kill. I main Clove and i usually succeed at reviving

The Phoenix ult doen't really cancel Clove's ult. If you kill phoenix ult during the 12s but then your teamate kills the real phoenix after and you still have your timer up, it counts as a damage assist and you get revived fully
what about 1v1 situation? where clove plant the spike, and phoenix kill clove.. and clove ult, and phoenix can just run back for 2/3second and then ult to run&hide again... thats the counter.

it is worth noting that when you're 1 ult point away from ult, before you die, you will gain it in the next round (unlike immediately when you die).
I stand corrected, Clove's meddle does 90 decay to allies and enemies. Which is weird as this is the only ability that doesn't reduce damage against allies
no, 90 to both ally and enemy . the video u saw had enemy not having shields

please check if the orb thing before dying is right or not because you do not get an orb if you die from fall damage or teammate util
Ah I thought that might have been the case but I didn't have enough accounts to test that, I'll probably check when Clove goes live
from other creator's play testing they don't get the ult at 6/7 when they die. you have to have it when you die

I'm just so worried that this is yet another hyper carry character like Reyna. Reyna is so problematic in low elo lobbies and now Clove is just Reyna with useful utility.

you can get a 7k now you kill 4 people including clove sage revives here you kill sage now you have 5 k you kill clove you get 6k and kill here again here when she revives for the 7k
What would happen if:
We are on attacker site (1v2):
Raze vs gekko and clove
Gekko, uses wingman to plant the spike
Gekko dies of raze
Clove with ult dies of raze and the wingman is still planting (theoretically wingman should die too)
So can clove 3sec cooldown for ult keep the wingman alive for plant
And if not used - will it die imidietly or after the cloves cooldown wears off, or it will not die at all? Its gekko mechanic tha I would abuse as much as i can (if not understood i can say it again but Kanga - thats a good myth)
Ideally, Wingman should instantly die the moment everyone on Attacker's side dies. Therefore, if Wingman is still planting and Clove dies mid-plant, victory goes to Raze and the defender side because the match's end-state has been achieved (kill all Attackers before they plant spike).

@@mudxiej_ No, wingman instantly dies when all players on his team are dead. At the exact same time, all players are dead so the round ends and Clove is unable to revive.

@@mudxiej_ That's not how the game is coded to work. The moment a game-end state is reached, the match simultaneously ends regardless of if someone could res or not.
if gekko uses wingman on spike, gekko then dies, and clove dies after. Does wingman then get killed even though clove can use their ult?
With most abilities in game you would think nearly everything about the new agent would be self explanatory then you come to these comments and now you realize most people don't even understand the game or can't read

The way the clove ult thing while the spike is still up works is that the spike is counted as a player in the games code. This is what makes the round go on after the whole team is dead.
okay but what if you have a kayo on your team downed in their ult does the round end when you die or do you get the chance to resurrect? also a teammate in deadlocks ult seems like youll definitely have the chance to revive if you get knocked as clove since its not a confirmed death until it reaches the end
KAY/O instantly dies when all other allies are dead. I imagine with the same situation as the spike, you won't be able to rez once he gets knocked as he'll instantly die and the round will be lost. However, Kanga did not seem to test (or be able to test) what would happen if something happened that would normally end the round, but you are already did with the cooldown ticking. For instance, dying before KAY/O and then him getting knocked.
So for your KAY/O example, I'd say it's a good question and if it's not instant loss then it depends on the order and times of death. To be simple though, it's probably instant loss either way and Clove is just locked out of res if not used while viable.
As for Deadlock's ult, you most definitely can self res during it as your teammate is still technically alive and could even escape it naturally (through blockage) in theory.
using ult in a 1v1 would be pretty dumb, if you revive, your opponent can just run away until you die
The spike thing and how attacker clove can revive but not defender clove in 1v1. Think of it like this.
The game treats the spike as another attacker player when it's planted. Clove can only ult really when she still has teammates which for attacker Clove is the spike.
The defender clove though is truly alone, hence why she can't ult.
Extra note: I think it's also the reason why if everybody is dead, the pov switches for attackers to the spike. It's the last remaining teammate on field.
basically for ult as long as the round isn't officially over, you can still use it. as long as a banner doesn't pop up or the clock above doesn't reset you should be chilling
Bro said "for some reason" when the defender died with the spike active, that's because the round has ended when all defenders die - when an attacker dies the round is still active until the bomb is defused - this is simple logic.
Also the test of killing you for the last orb was skewed, the Raze changed to Clove's team just before the shells for her nade killed her, meaning she doesn't get an orb because her teammate killed her - you only get an orb if an enemy kills you.
something i wanna know is if you die in an iso ult can you revive yourself or because its suppressed you cant use it in time?
you can but your weapon will drop and you can't pick it up during the dismiss part
@@ZCatt You can pick your weapon up just not the spike. It automatically gets added to your inventory when you res, just like with Sage res. In the trailer they move away from their body and still have their vandal

You die if your timer expires before the next round buy phase.

One more thing, can you check whether the smoke recharge timer resets when you die or do you get 2 smokes when alive and 2 smokes after dying?
I'm pretty sure it's just continued from when you were alive, so the cooldown doesn't reset or anything and you don't get extra smokes, they'll just recharge as usual

I understand her voice lines are cute af and funny, and her accent is very likeable but HEAR ME OUT: riot is using a strategy to push LGBwhatever forcefully into people's minds. I remember same thing happening in a Netflix series (can't remember it's name, if I found it I'll edit this comment) where they introduced an extremely charismatic character who would just put a smile on ur face whenever youre watching him. Slowly, after he earned people's likings, they started to introduce him as GAY.
Of course that step had an impact on the fans of this character (I personally was, that was long ago). Imagine a teen's role model becoming gay all of a sudden? How would that affect him/her way of thinking? that's just a really SMALL strategy of playing with people's mentalities and inserting ideas that LGBTQ would want to stay in people's minds.
From what I have noticed, riot is using this same strategy. do you think riot couldn't have made such a likeable agent before? I mean that's the first agent to be throwing jokes all around the game, while other agents seem to be more serious and focused most of the time. Which would make clove exceptionally likeable by the community. They even added "skill issue" as a voiceline lol. That's just riot tryharding to make the new "non-binary" agent likeable. So even a straight's favorite agent in valorant would be "non-binary". Just spreading awareness, hope u have read this.
I do have a qns how much health exactly does clove pick-me-up overheal you, 1. If you killed the opponent fully yourself, 2. You did the minimum damage to be considered an assist and a teammate kills the opponent later. Does the Pick-me-up overheals a different amount of HP depending on how much damage you dealt? (Full kill, heal more, contributed kill, heal less?) Or is it always by the same amount nonetheless

I’m wondering what happens if you tried to Clove ult after dying in Iso ult. You lose your abilities similar to KAY/O knife but with knife you lose the suppression after dying, so idk if it works that way for Iso ult too

tbh i hope thats the last agent that can revive herself, or even still place smokes after shes dead. Like i dont wanna play valorant in a few months where i have to kill some agents like 3-4 times a round just make really sure theyre dead. I think that even clove is a bit too much but even if she fits into the meta, pls dont add anymore agents like this. One is fine but i think if we have/get more it will get very annoying and destroy the game.
2:40 some reason? the tone is much harsher than intended but you do play this game? right? the reason why once spike is down the rules change is that the goals of both defenders and attakers change once spike is placed. in summary
before spike
defenders - kill all attackers
attackers - plant spike or kill all defenders
spike placed
defenders - defuse spike
attackers - defend spike or kill all defenders
So now if you really wanna try 7kills, that team be Clove and Sage, damn it that even Impossible than 6K Spectrum
I noticed Clove's ult point is only added to the ult at the start of the next round. SO if you die and NOT use ur ult, the next round it will be added to the ult points. That's why sometimes Clove gets their ult at the very start of a round when nothing has really happened for them to get the orb.

So we've seen that when you die at 6/7 you dont get to ult, but what happens when sage revives you after you die at 6/7? Do you get the ult and get to have a 3rd life?

KAY/O ult doesn't count as a kill until you fully kill him, not just knock him. Phoenix ult doesn't count as a kill. The max, countable kills is 7.

If I buy a Sheriff before dying, will I be able to use the Sheriff after reviving with my ult, or will I still get reset to a Classic since sidearm weapons don't drop when you have a main weapon.

2:20 It's easy to understand. You can revive yourself before end of the round. When spike is NOT defused yet, round is still going, so you CAN revive yourself, when you lost 1vs1, round is over (when no spike planted), so you CAN NOT revive yourself.

Can you test this interaction. Say there are two of you remaining and the other guy gets ulted by deadlock, and you got killed. Are you still able to revive?
If you loose the round, die after and revive. Knowing that the next round will start before you die again due to not killing anyone, will it save ur weapon ?

most of the pro players and streamers already showed off all of her abilities and what they can do during the testing xD (keeoh is a good example)
If you use pick me up and then get hit by a KAY-O knife your screen bugs out and you turn to a random direction really fast
theoretically a 7k is now possible. kill 3 people on enemy team have enemy sage revive then kill sage and the revived person then kill clove and have her use her ult then kill her again
