Momoshiki's remark about "how it will come to pass" is important. He is saying "yes, Boruto you're right, we will prove the prophecy wrong" because Momoshiki grew tired of being a pawn. Isshiki's disrespect was one thing. But upon learning of Shibai's survival his demanor completely changed.
You got it all wrong...momo wants the prophecy to happen so that he can take over boruto's body and if I remember correctly he even saves kawaki from getting killed by sasuke after he sealed Naruto cuz he needed kawaki to make the prophecy happen and when it happened, he started persuading boruto to let him take control and kill his friends whose memories has been altered due to omnipotence but fails after sasuke takes boruto out of there..and after boruto sees that he hasn't lost it all cuz he still has sasuke, he doesn't give up his life to momo

Momoshiki wasn't trying to save Boruto, he was trying to save himself so he could later psychologically take over Boruto's mind and body, which he tried to do on several occasions. That was his plan at least. He certainly didn't "sacrifice" himself to save Boruto - it was all in his own self-interests, and for the record, Kurama helped young Naruto on several occasions because the alternative was to become the slave of someone else.
Reading Chapter 4 of Boruto Two Blue Vortex, it got me excited and scared because one wrong move from Boruto, he can be fed to the Claw Grimes and become a source of absolute devastation to their planet. Imagine having Sasuke and Boruto as 10-Tails Claw Grimes with absolute knowledge vs Otsusuki, and their battle field is the earth 😩

Despite my dislike for the show, they at least kept one thing that actually makes sense: Boruto being an Otsusuki. We all tend to forget that Naruto and Sasuke are both descendants from the Otsusuki clan still.
There's also the fact that Momoshiki is dead. There's nothing left of him physically to implant a Karma to. Now that Boruto is an Otsotsuki, he himself could potentially implant a karma for himself, but the only hope for Momoshiki is for Boruto to give up his body to him.
If it wasn't for tye few old naruto characters that are still in the show, nobody could tell this anime had anything to do with the naruto show, instead of some kind of sequel, it just seems a completely different anime

2 possible reason:
ONE is the medicine from Amado. this medicine suppresses the Byakugan. According to his experiment, when you suppress the byakugan the extraction "might" stop. However, Boruto gain access to byakugan in that episode. Thus, the medicine is defective. momoshiki also said it.
TWO is Boruto is already 100% Otsutsuki before that event. The extraction stopped at 82% and the remaining 18% is Boruto's (that otsutsuki genetics where the Jougan resides). We all know that an Otsutsuki can heal wounds. ---so there.
Q: Why is Momoshiki's is OKAY with giving Boruto the 18%? We all know that Otsutsuki's aims to evolve and gain more power. If the karma rewrite the 18% Boruto's --momoshiki will gain nothing but resurrection only. Thus retaining the 18% may give him access to the jougan. so he want to take control instead of resurrecting. This is pretty obvious. momoshiki always talks about boruto giving control instead of his resurrection. momoshiki knew all along that no resurrection will happen.
