This is my first time writing a elevator pitch speech. I am a Lead Supply Technician at the VA Hospital. I train new Supply Techs, I communicate with Doctors, Nurses, and Staff about products and substitutes for products that are out of stock. I am the VP of the Union, and a member of the Emergency Response Team. I'm trying to make a great speech about my communication skills, teaching skills, and problem solving skills.
I'm a student and it's hard for me to think of what to say who I help. Because mostly it's myself and my peers studying and I'm not sure how to relate that to a career position
Hi Professor Austin, I am s senior doctoral student in Chiropractic. I love your video and can't hardly wait to do a 30 second presentation to my future patients!
The pitch is so important! This is a great resource for job seekers and entrepreneurs too. It's also key that candidates and entrepreneurs practice this pitch so they are really comfortable walking an employer or client through it.
I was recently retrenched, and followed most, if not all of your tips on job interviews! One the same questions you taught on this channel was a question at the job interview! And I nailed it 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 I got the job eventually❤🇿🇦. Question: Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Love this guidance and advice for an elevator pitch! Specifically, it's helpful to include a call to action. I do think that makes it more of a conversation starter verses a memorized statement! Thank you!!
Really great guidance Professor. I’d like to write more but I don’t want to hex my chances! Thank you for the counsel, you are fab! Happy Holidays to you and your family🌲🎅
Hey!! I love the video. I'm in middle school and my teacher wants us to make an elevator pitch, and I having a hard time coming up with what makes me unique. Do you have an more tips for me with that. That would really help me out.
stumbled across this and was perfect for what I needed. I have a question though, I currently have 2 career paths I focus on, that have the ability to overlap but not currently and wasn't sure if I should have 2 pitches or combine them. The experience I have in one path would help attract clients in the other, but unsure if it's too messy to say "hi I'm Kane and I'm a operations supervisor and a mindset coach" if that makes sense
Dealing with a similar issue. Just a suggestion to incorporate your mindset coaching style into operation management creating a unique niche in your pitch. 😉 good luck
Heather. I'm hearing conflicting statements about #elevatorpitches amongst career experts. Can you address some pros and cons to having a 30 second pitch in your next video.
Thank you Heather, you give such great advice. I’ve been watching your videos and taking notes. I completely changed my resume and CV I spent a whole weekend on them. However, it’s been over a week and I have not received any job interviews or call backs. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.
I am just finishing my AA so I don’t know exactly what I want to do yet. I know I want to be in the fashion industry, stylist is something hat really calls my name but right now my job is helping our jewelry family business with taking care of the social media. What should I say for the first question that asks “who do you help?”. What does that really mean? I am very confused
Hey! Great Video! Any advice on the 4th Step if you are doing an elevator pitch to more than one companies? Trying to sell myself for a graduate program😌

Hey ... how can we write a 30-second elevator pitch about a colleague or someone from our group? How to start and continue? Could you please help me it's really urgent.
Hii Ma'am, good to see you again these video is such a value addition in our career and to get a dream job that we actually likes and feel free to do the things interestly and according to ourself...!!!!! Thank you Ma'am.
I do not want to sound rude, but I think you should practice your own elevator pitch. It took you 3 minutes to start talking about the 4 steps. I waited to see what you were going to say. Then when you finally started talking about the 4 steps the answers to the questions were the common answers that people do. If someone talks to me the same way that most people do I lose interest.
Thanks for sharing. We all need this when we network with others too. I also think that showing genuine interest to others is important too. Because other would reciprocate.
Thank you for doing this video, up until now, I wasn't sure how to approach answering this question but it suddenly just became so clear, I love your video's, very inspirational, lots of powerful content, thank you.
If I'm "New here" as in...this is the first time I've ever watched one of your videos...and I've only watched the intro to your video...why would I want to subscribe AND hit the bell notifications after only watching your intro? Food for thought - UA-camrs that ask you to subscribe if your new at the very beginning of their video....Jeez...by me a drink before you hit on me like that
Perhaps thinking about ’words’ not statements/phrases works for reducing the time. Also, people want to hear what they are going to get out of it. So it’s 10/20. 10 sec what we do, 20 sec how / why they would want to hire/ be interested in our business.
I’m starting in a new field as a loan officer and have to learn how to present not only myself but my company and it’s products. I’ll be attending a networking breakfast soon and need to have something like this elevator pitch to start off with. Public speaking is not my favorite!
Thank you so much for this vid. My school is having a career fair this Friday and I made an appointment to speak to an NBCUniversal recruiter. I'm a whole lot less nervous after watching this video! And a bit excited :)
I am doing many tasks as administrative assistant, and recently I got interviewed and he asked me what I'm good at, I could not give him solid strong answer, I felt terrible after, a wise friend gave me this link.... I will build my 30 seconds. Thank you

I'm spending a couple of minutes here trying to figure out why it takes 8 minutes to tell about a 30 second pitch!!! :-D
😂
Because learning is not by osmosis 😂
Exactly, I found this is too worded.
Very interesting advice! But I would love to hear YOUR 30-second pitch. Where can I find this?
An elevator pitch needs to be simple and clear. Clear is always better than clever!
I totally agree! Very well said. Do you have your pitch ready?
