Absolutely loved this book. Such great writing. The information is so relative to us today and the humor makes this book so enjoyable. Didn't want to put it down. Hopefully, there will be another book coming...

Superb. I myself have a nut allergy and it is just such an inconvenience. Looking forward to this book.

I'm listening to this book on audible right now. I like his approach. You don't need to describe the entire evolution of teeth to understand why our teeth don't fit in our mouths. A better book on this is Jaws: The Story of a Hidden Epidemic by Paul R. Ehrlich and Sandra Kahn. Forward by Robert Sapolsky.

As a woman who has had 3 C-sections, my first was an emergency C-section, I will tell you there ain't no wrapping childbirth up and putting a bow on it.
I love my beautiful children that came from the process, but having HG during pregnancy and then almost dying was Hell on earth.

Evolution may have already come up with a solution for our teeth. This is anecdotal but my dentist says that he sees far fewer wisdom teeth in Millennials and younger groups.

I currently have at least 3 wisdom teeth growing at the same time, thankfully there were no major complications yet

I only ever had one! And I would have had space for it, except it decided to come in under my last molar. 🫤(I am a millennial)

If I remember correctly, my wisdom teeth only showed up in my twenties. Fun times 😕

Great book, loved it. Evolution's design failures and the human body's general acopia have been the cause of an unfathomable amount of pain, misery and suffering for billions of people over the ages; 'mother' nature stands condemned in my view for gross incompetence and neglect. Do I sound a little angry? Well, as a chronic pain sufferer for nearly forty years, yes I probably am...

There's a very 'western' bias here when talking about back problems. More 'traditional' cultures tend to have little or no back problems, little or no need of hip or knee replacements -- in many cases in spite of a lifetime of hard manual work. In comparison to 'us': the hips would be more anteverted (bum out) -- which would normally cause a belly-out forwards curve -- this is corrected by a muscle that runs under the front of the ribcage, which in turn anchors the ribcage, then causing each breath to expand the ribcage upwards instead of outwards, thus stretching the vertebrae with each breath. The back is _never_ curved (one 'hinges' at the hip, keeping the back straight). The muscles either side of the vertebrae are no longer stretched -- they shorten and help keeping the back straight. Fwiw I learned (and implemented) this from Esther Gokhale (she has an introductory video here) but I'm sure there are others out there that explain it too.

Regarding allergies: I think you've already found a clue. With a name like Bezzerides, I'm sure you are not more than 5 or 6 generations in the USA, possibly less. Wouldn't your allergies be especially disruptive because you are genetically from another insect pollinating area of the world and not where you are living in the US? And as to why allergies plague so many modern people - compare the amount of migration that has accelerated in the last 200 years. I find the same is true with finding the 'best" diet for your self. Look at the native diet of your ancestors. Luckily, mine are Mediterranean:).
