@@dustinjones7458 Well Dimitri's storyline involves a lot of show of hands, ever since Reunion: Azure Moon when Byleth offered his hand to Light and Shadow when he did a full circle and offered his hand to Edelgard the same way Byleth did, even his S support where he holds Byleth's hand after taking off his glove saying something about how these hands saved him. So yeah it does mean something to Dimitri, because in Dimitri's storyline, hands are used to show something basically Dimitri has a hand fetish

One of the best supports in the series in terms of how emotional and genuine it felt. God damn this game is next-level, the Blue Lions route has some of the best supports in the entire series by far. I grew to love all the characters so damn much thanks to how genuine and real they felt.
I came back to this video because as of June 9th 2022 Ferdinand’s voice actor Billy Kametz had lost his life to cancer at 35. RIP thank you for giving life to such a great character like Ferdinand Von Aegir.

Marianne’s supports are so beautiful. Dimitri says that she doesn’t need to smile and cheer up even if her soul bleeds just because others say it, but she does need to stay alive and help making others happy. Even if life is difficult, someone cares for you. And doesn’t want you to die, suicide in this case. Lorenz says that she’s beautiful as she is, he just wants to let her know that there’s people out there that think she is a kind and beautiful person, not because of her looks, but because of what’s inside her heart. Claude says that even if we all have burdens when we are born and until we die, it’s our choice whether we cast them aside, or live with that suffering because you feel unable to get that weight off your shoulders, but in reality, if you have someone who helps you, and cares for you, together, you will cast that burden aside and be happy for what you are. Ferdinand also says that everyone has a purpose in life, even Marianne, he says that she should find her purpose in life, whether that be helping others, or leading them. Ashe teaches her that, just because she doesn’t have a dream to pursue yet, she doesn’t live an empty life. Talking with others, living with others, helping them, and helping you is enough to not live an empty life. You have to find a dream if you can do it, but being unable to do so because of your position doesn’t mean that you are a failure or a burden. Marianne talks with Byleth about how much she ran away from people, how much she wanted to die, how much she wanted to be forgotten, left alone, because she felt that they hated her-that they didn’t care about her. But now, she understands, she has friends, friends who will help her get her confidence, friends who will teach her that she is a beautiful person, friends who think she has a purpose in life, friends who think she is able to live a fulfilling life, friends who understand her and still wants her to live. She doesn’t want to die now because she now understands all of that, and wants to be the best person she can be, following her dreams that she wants to find. Marianne’s character may seem like she just thinks everyone hates her, but in reality she just thought of that because she hated herself, she thought that having the Crest of the Beast was enough to make everyone hate her, and thus hating herself because she had that crest. Because she thought she was cursed. Everyone has a bit of Marianne in themselves, everyone thinks that just because of a specific thing that doesn’t influence who you truly are, someone (or everyone) is going to hate you. But you really just gotta try to see that people care and love you, even if you think they shouldn’t, because you are scared you might be a burden. You should embrace that love they have for you, and learn that whatever thing you may have or had will not always truly define if you are a good person. To love yourself you must know that people love you, and viceversa.
MarkTheLeo me too, I really like games/characters that are emotional, because I can actually feel what the character feels. Honestly I like Marianne because it somewhat reminds me of how I was before I got to a new school: forgotten. And I couldn’t handle a normal conversation with anyone except my closer friends. It was terrible but what could I do if everyone was in their own groups. I too also thought that I could just be a burden/annoying if I ever entered an already made group since I was a bit quiet and nerdy when I was with my old class (that isn’t really me but that’s what I thought the people from my class thought of me, being my 2 friends the only ones who knew me). In a certain way that’s why I like Ignatz too, his social awkwardness and some other characteristics are similar to me hahaha (we are kinda similar in looks). Also Marianne’s character progression is something I love, she didn’t become from a total loner to a popular girl in the 5-year timeskip, but she did get some friends, and understood that her life was valuable to others while finally being herself. Once again, that’s what’s happening to me. I still have long ways to go in my social skills since I was so focused on my studies, my close friends and myself, but I’m learning to open to more people and try to make people happy. Sorry I got a little carried away, but when I hear this music and think of Marianne and me, I realize that I have progressed in my mental health and life. Marianne is really realistic, I can at least say that because I once was like her pre-skip version. Also any character that has types of social and mental difficulty but brings them up calmly and peacefully has my attention too lol. Probably why I’m not interested in Bernadetta even though there are some relatable situations in there.
Bethany Bradley I can see how you have improved, but I think that, as I am trying to not be so selfish right now, you have to try to be less jealous. A person’s popularity doesn’t mean who they are, Hilda is a nice person and she has flaws as any other. I try to see the positives of people and see my own positives, because I don’t want to be angry at a person, it’s sick for me, that’s not me, nor does it help me to achieve my goal to be a loyal guy that will always try to help people mentally. I had a classmate in the last year of my old school, he was (is) stupid, he was insincere, ungrateful, vulgar, etc., but when they bullied him because of the same things I tried to help him even though he didn’t give me the same treatment (from what I heard he still gets hit and has constant bruises). I felt bad, I knew he had a kind heart inside him, I knew that existed because I saw it, even though I was going through my own mental problems, I decided to try to teach him that: hey, maybe you should see that I’m trying to help you and be your help even though you are making many things that could easily make me go away from you. In the end, even though it was hard for me (I did confront him physically once, but I always tried to reason), he understood what I tried to do, and for the last 3 months, he finally treated me well and was as kind as he was able to. I understood why he felt that way. Being new, and instantly being bullied, hit, getting bruises, is not pretty, and will probably make you want to vent all of it to a 3rd party, even though that 3rd party might just be the one that’s trying to help you. Even though I remember all of his bad attributes instantly, I also remember his situation and what he was to me in the end. Now a similar situation is happening, but now this kid is smart, but has absolutely the attitude of a small kid sometimes. It will be hard to understand what I have to do to reason with him and make him understand that what he can do sometimes is hurtful and annoying. But now, I’m not alone, I have friends who support me no matter if my sexuality is not the same as them, if I get better grades or not, or if I have more games. I also have classmates who tell me that I’m brave, kind, smart. Classmates who think of me not as the typical smart-ass kid, but as a kind, brave person. The type of person that I want to be seen as. And that all happened in one year. I’m not alone now, even my best friends from the old school now look at me differently, my best friend and I had a stagnant relationship at one point, and my other best friend moved to another class that I couldn’t enter. During that moment, I felt alone and sad. That’s when I realized “I have to change, I can’t just stay in my bubble with my close friends, I have to progress, as smart as I can be and as kind as I can be, I can only reach so much in my bubble. I have to show the world what I am if I want to be understood” My stagnant relationship is now at it’s best moment instead, since we now understand what we are to each other, and we both got to progress so, so much, over this year, and the past year too. My distant relationship with my other friend is starting to get closer now. I do hope that I get to tell him all that has happened. I hope you get friends that support you, try going to another school, it might sound scary, but it changed my stagnant life into a life in which I feel appreciated not only by my friends and family, but to normal people that may be just classmates. Also, have you tried going to a psychologist? They can help you vent your problems, it truly helped me to realize what I needed to do. I hope that we both can remember this point of our lives a memorable one, and think “I still feel like I’m living the best moment of my life”
Marianne's A support with Byleth honestly had me in tears...I relate to her so much, and seeing her overcome her struggles and find a will to keep going was oddly therapeutic

I personally do not believe in him simply because religion has never supported parts of my life (especially my sexuality). I think that understanding that each one has a way to feel happy and stable is what makes one happy too. I find that happiness is found when you and the people around you can share their support, happiness, and faith on you.

Just listen. Once upon a time, in a faraway place, there was a young boy. This boy came from a despised lineage. In short, his mother was a daughter of the enemy. So the young boy was treated horribly by everyone around him. He hadn't done anything wrong. Everyone hated him simply for existing. Yelling, fighting back, explaining himself... Nothing he did could change his situation. When he was finally old enough, he ran far away from home. He escaped. It sounds to me like he had no choice. I would have done the same, had it been me... Thing is, after he ran away, he still found himself in the very same position. People in the outside world hated him for where he came from. Well, now that's- The boy thought he had no place to go. All he could do was destroy the boundary between the inside and outside worlds.
Man this is sad. Claude may not have gone through the kind of hell Edelgard and Dimitri did but he still got dealt a dirty hand. Hopefully his goals are accomplished on all routes since he lives them all.
This song sounds just right . It’s like someone is bringing their walls down for a brief moment to tell someone about themselves that they normally wouldn’t reveal to even their closest friend, family member, or lover. Basically just imagine someone disarming themselves and taking off their armor for a brief respite despite knowing the danger there is in doing that but they trust you enough to not let any harm come to them while they’re this vulnerable.

Strangely enough, i think Hilda is a well-written character. Even tough she's lazy and unmotivated, i feel like her "Not wanting to have expectations held against her" kinda made me like her
i love hilda a lot. she says things like how she doesn't understand why someone would give up their life for someone else, but then (CF spoilers) crimson flower is the ONLY route you can't recruit hilda in. it's also the only route where you can actually kill claude. and the route where hilda can die by your hand to protect claude. she might not be as loyal as dedue or hubert, but she still cares about claude a lot.
Gloria Chan Even Claude didn't expect her to give her life for him. He's horrified when he finds out. Edit: Hilda says in her support chain with Byleth she could never give her life for someone else out of a fear of dying herself. Either she lied to herself or underestimated her desire to protect others.
Cried pretty hard on a lot of the heart felt supports. Majority of Mariannes, Seteth and Flayn, Felix and Sylvain, Dedue and Ashe and plenty more. God I love this game.

This game is far too beautiful for its own good... whoever wrote the supports did an amazing job. The relationships formed between characters, both within and between houses are far deeper than anything we've seen in the past few games. It doesn't just feel like a quick friendship is being formed that sometimes turns to love; with this game, you can truly feel the threat of death throughout both the story and the supports. These relationships are more than just "let's kill the bad guys"; true emotion is shown by so many of the characters and both the player and the characters know that the war is about more than just beating some baddies.

Hubert's supports with Byleth are better, but only the A-support is exceptional to me. But then... Yeah, Byleth's supports with Edelgard, Dimitri, Lysithea, and Marianne are fantastic.

Dude..Bernadetta's backstory was so tragic. I liked her confession to Dorothea too. Both Bern and Marianne I found myself just being on the verge of crying a few times during their support scenes
Bernadetta is probably the most relatable character I've ever seen in media whatsoever. As someone whose parents left a similar mark on them, I couldn't help but see reflections of my own thought processes whenever she spoke in her supports.

I don't often cry at video games, but the moment byleth finally co fronts Dimitri about the path he's on really put a tear to my eye. Especially the silence during the scene, with Dimitri acting aloof and cold and then, when he finally let's down his facade for a little, this song starts. Idk the feeling of catharsis I felt at that moment and the words Dimitri said really resonated and made me feel for the poor guy. This game is the only fire emblem game I've seen so far and my goodness... I never in my wildest dreams would have expected such emotion in this game. It's so great
Man, when I hear this theme I always think about the times I cried during this game Sylvain expressing his hatred towards crests to Mercedes. Dimitri's death in CF. Marianne and Byleth's A support. Edelgard thanking Dimitri for being her childhood friend. Dimitri and Marianne's A support. The scene with Byleth and Dimitri in the rain in AM The emotional stuff is one of the many reasons why I love this game.

The guilt of not being able to save them is something I can really relate to. It's truly as painful and miserable as this game shows it, and that is absolutely how it should be. God bless Dimitri.

The first time I really noticed this theme was in Claude and Marianne’s A-support. Prior to that, I never noticed it despite it playing in supports like Marianne and Byleth’s A Support, etc. It really fit the mood for the two of them though. Claude reminiscing about his rough childhood with nostalgic sounding music playing in the background. Promising to let go of their burdens while a gentle piano plays in the background. I love that their A-Support isn’t just a straight up confession of love like the other ones, it’s subtle. And honestly I really dig the idea of the two of them being emotionally supportive of each other 24/7 before eventually falling in love. They both deserve to heal and have someone who understands their problems.

Welp, I think it's about time I pay my respects to this song It's real sad boi hours when this starts playing I feel ready to have an emotion filled A support with a close friend right now, ngl I find it really interesting to see what characters people identify with in this game. And that's why I love it so much. Most of us out there have at least one character in this game that we truly feel a kinship with. Whether it be Hilda's wanting to not have other people's unfair expectations on her shoulders Or Marianne's lack of self worth because of how she was born and something she had no control over Or Bernadetta's fear of people because of the trauma and constant being beaten down by another person Or any of the other characters in the game We really get to see how these things can affect someone and their relationships, and their entire lives. Just how tough it can be to even live sometimes when these things weight heavily on our minds... It's a feeling me and a lot of you know pretty well. But through these conversations and interactions between characters in this game, we get to see that with time, support, and effort we can conquer these problems. Together. I want anyone who see this to know that I _believe_ in you! It might not mean too much coming from a random internet girl, but it's true.

The first times i really realized this theme were in Lysithea’s supports where she reveals her tragic past (Her support with Edelgard definitely just struck me, both have become some of my favorite characters because of how complex and deep they are) and Marianne’s supports (Especially hers with Byleth, i was nearly bawling when she said she wanted to take her own life but at the same time i was like BABY IM SO FUCKING PROUD OF YOU 🥺😭💙 when she said she accepts her friends warmth and kindness) and in Petra’s support with Byleth where she talks about how she needs to push herself as hard as possible to carve a good name for her own kingdom like sweetie you’re doing amazing already 🥺
This track makes me so sad. Mainly because this is the theme for the A-Supports. And that means that’s how far I can get with most of the dudes as Male Byleth.

Dimitri says that she doesn’t need to smile and cheer up even if her soul bleeds just because others say it, but she does need to stay alive and help making others happy. Even if life is difficult, someone cares for you. And doesn’t want you to die, suicide in this case.
Lorenz says that she’s beautiful as she is, he just wants to let her know that there’s people out there that think she is a kind and beautiful person, not because of her looks, but because of what’s inside her heart.
Claude says that even if we all have burdens when we are born and until we die, it’s our choice whether we cast them aside, or live with that suffering because you feel unable to get that weight off your shoulders, but in reality, if you have someone who helps you, and cares for you, together, you will cast that burden aside and be happy for what you are.
Ferdinand also says that everyone has a purpose in life, even Marianne, he says that she should find her purpose in life, whether that be helping others, or leading them.
Ashe teaches her that, just because she doesn’t have a dream to pursue yet, she doesn’t live an empty life. Talking with others, living with others, helping them, and helping you is enough to not live an empty life. You have to find a dream if you can do it, but being unable to do so because of your position doesn’t mean that you are a failure or a burden.
Marianne talks with Byleth about how much she ran away from people, how much she wanted to die, how much she wanted to be forgotten, left alone, because she felt that they hated her-that they didn’t care about her. But now, she understands, she has friends, friends who will help her get her confidence, friends who will teach her that she is a beautiful person, friends who think she has a purpose in life, friends who think she is able to live a fulfilling life, friends who understand her and still wants her to live. She doesn’t want to die now because she now understands all of that, and wants to be the best person she can be, following her dreams that she wants to find.
Marianne’s character may seem like she just thinks everyone hates her, but in reality she just thought of that because she hated herself, she thought that having the Crest of the Beast was enough to make everyone hate her, and thus hating herself because she had that crest. Because she thought she was cursed.
Everyone has a bit of Marianne in themselves, everyone thinks that just because of a specific thing that doesn’t influence who you truly are, someone (or everyone) is going to hate you. But you really just gotta try to see that people care and love you, even if you think they shouldn’t, because you are scared you might be a burden. You should embrace that love they have for you, and learn that whatever thing you may have or had will not always truly define if you are a good person. To love yourself you must know that people love you, and viceversa.
Ferdinand's B support is your description, but beside that point. I honestly love Marianne as a character.
MarkTheLeo me too, I really like games/characters that are emotional, because I can actually feel what the character feels.
Honestly I like Marianne because it somewhat reminds me of how I was before I got to a new school: forgotten. And I couldn’t handle a normal conversation with anyone except my closer friends. It was terrible but what could I do if everyone was in their own groups. I too also thought that I could just be a burden/annoying if I ever entered an already made group since I was a bit quiet and nerdy when I was with my old class (that isn’t really me but that’s what I thought the people from my class thought of me, being my 2 friends the only ones who knew me). In a certain way that’s why I like Ignatz too, his social awkwardness and some other characteristics are similar to me hahaha (we are kinda similar in looks).
Also Marianne’s character progression is something I love, she didn’t become from a total loner to a popular girl in the 5-year timeskip, but she did get some friends, and understood that her life was valuable to others while finally being herself. Once again, that’s what’s happening to me. I still have long ways to go in my social skills since I was so focused on my studies, my close friends and myself, but I’m learning to open to more people and try to make people happy.
Sorry I got a little carried away, but when I hear this music and think of Marianne and me, I realize that I have progressed in my mental health and life.
Marianne is really realistic, I can at least say that because I once was like her pre-skip version. Also any character that has types of social and mental difficulty but brings them up calmly and peacefully has my attention too lol. Probably why I’m not interested in Bernadetta even though there are some relatable situations in there.
Bethany Bradley I can see how you have improved, but I think that, as I am trying to not be so selfish right now, you have to try to be less jealous. A person’s popularity doesn’t mean who they are, Hilda is a nice person and she has flaws as any other. I try to see the positives of people and see my own positives, because I don’t want to be angry at a person, it’s sick for me, that’s not me, nor does it help me to achieve my goal to be a loyal guy that will always try to help people mentally.
I had a classmate in the last year of my old school, he was (is) stupid, he was insincere, ungrateful, vulgar, etc., but when they bullied him because of the same things I tried to help him even though he didn’t give me the same treatment (from what I heard he still gets hit and has constant bruises). I felt bad, I knew he had a kind heart inside him, I knew that existed because I saw it, even though I was going through my own mental problems, I decided to try to teach him that: hey, maybe you should see that I’m trying to help you and be your help even though you are making many things that could easily make me go away from you. In the end, even though it was hard for me (I did confront him physically once, but I always tried to reason), he understood what I tried to do, and for the last 3 months, he finally treated me well and was as kind as he was able to.
I understood why he felt that way. Being new, and instantly being bullied, hit, getting bruises, is not pretty, and will probably make you want to vent all of it to a 3rd party, even though that 3rd party might just be the one that’s trying to help you.
Even though I remember all of his bad attributes instantly, I also remember his situation and what he was to me in the end.
Now a similar situation is happening, but now this kid is smart, but has absolutely the attitude of a small kid sometimes. It will be hard to understand what I have to do to reason with him and make him understand that what he can do sometimes is hurtful and annoying. But now, I’m not alone, I have friends who support me no matter if my sexuality is not the same as them, if I get better grades or not, or if I have more games. I also have classmates who tell me that I’m brave, kind, smart. Classmates who think of me not as the typical smart-ass kid, but as a kind, brave person. The type of person that I want to be seen as. And that all happened in one year.
I’m not alone now, even my best friends from the old school now look at me differently, my best friend and I had a stagnant relationship at one point, and my other best friend moved to another class that I couldn’t enter. During that moment, I felt alone and sad. That’s when I realized “I have to change, I can’t just stay in my bubble with my close friends, I have to progress, as smart as I can be and as kind as I can be, I can only reach so much in my bubble. I have to show the world what I am if I want to be understood”
My stagnant relationship is now at it’s best moment instead, since we now understand what we are to each other, and we both got to progress so, so much, over this year, and the past year too. My distant relationship with my other friend is starting to get closer now. I do hope that I get to tell him all that has happened.
I hope you get friends that support you, try going to another school, it might sound scary, but it changed my stagnant life into a life in which I feel appreciated not only by my friends and family, but to normal people that may be just classmates.
Also, have you tried going to a psychologist? They can help you vent your problems, it truly helped me to realize what I needed to do.
I hope that we both can remember this point of our lives a memorable one, and think “I still feel like I’m living the best moment of my life”
Marianne's A support with Byleth honestly had me in tears...I relate to her so much, and seeing her overcome her struggles and find a will to keep going was oddly therapeutic

I personally do not believe in him simply because religion has never supported parts of my life (especially my sexuality). I think that understanding that each one has a way to feel happy and stable is what makes one happy too.
I find that happiness is found when you and the people around you can share their support, happiness, and faith on you.

This song sounds just right . It’s like someone is bringing their walls down for a brief moment to tell someone about themselves that they normally wouldn’t reveal to even their closest friend, family member, or lover.
Basically just imagine someone disarming themselves and taking off their armor for a brief respite despite knowing the danger there is in doing that but they trust you enough to not let any harm come to them while they’re this vulnerable.

crimson flower is the ONLY route you can't recruit hilda in. it's also the only route where you can actually kill claude. and the route where hilda can die by your hand to protect claude. she might not be as loyal as dedue or hubert, but she still cares about claude a lot.

Edit: Hilda says in her support chain with Byleth she could never give her life for someone else out of a fear of dying herself. Either she lied to herself or underestimated her desire to protect others.
Cried pretty hard on a lot of the heart felt supports. Majority of Mariannes, Seteth and Flayn, Felix and Sylvain, Dedue and Ashe and plenty more. God I love this game.

This game is far too beautiful for its own good... whoever wrote the supports did an amazing job. The relationships formed between characters, both within and between houses are far deeper than anything we've seen in the past few games. It doesn't just feel like a quick friendship is being formed that sometimes turns to love; with this game, you can truly feel the threat of death throughout both the story and the supports. These relationships are more than just "let's kill the bad guys"; true emotion is shown by so many of the characters and both the player and the characters know that the war is about more than just beating some baddies.
Hearing this in Marianne’s A-Support with Byleth, my heart broke.

I don't often cry at video games, but the moment byleth finally co fronts Dimitri about the path he's on really put a tear to my eye. Especially the silence during the scene, with Dimitri acting aloof and cold and then, when he finally let's down his facade for a little, this song starts. Idk the feeling of catharsis I felt at that moment and the words Dimitri said really resonated and made me feel for the poor guy. This game is the only fire emblem game I've seen so far and my goodness... I never in my wildest dreams would have expected such emotion in this game. It's so great

The first time I really noticed this theme was in Claude and Marianne’s A-support. Prior to that, I never noticed it despite it playing in supports like Marianne and Byleth’s A Support, etc.
It really fit the mood for the two of them though.
Claude reminiscing about his rough childhood with nostalgic sounding music playing in the background. Promising to let go of their burdens while a gentle piano plays in the background.
I love that their A-Support isn’t just a straight up confession of love like the other ones, it’s subtle. And honestly I really dig the idea of the two of them being emotionally supportive of each other 24/7 before eventually falling in love.
They both deserve to heal and have someone who understands their problems.

I find it really interesting to see what characters people identify with in this game. And that's why I love it so much. Most of us out there have at least one character in this game that we truly feel a kinship with.

The first times i really realized this theme were in Lysithea’s supports where she reveals her tragic past (Her support with Edelgard definitely just struck me, both have become some of my favorite characters because of how complex and deep they are) and Marianne’s supports (Especially hers with Byleth, i was nearly bawling when she said she wanted to take her own life but at the same time i was like BABY IM SO FUCKING PROUD OF YOU 🥺😭💙 when she said she accepts her friends warmth and kindness) and in Petra’s support with Byleth where she talks about how she needs to push herself as hard as possible to carve a good name for her own kingdom like sweetie you’re doing amazing already 🥺
