58-60 years ago, our family was privileged to receive the retired german shepherd police dog from the Asheville Police Dept. I was a very little girl and he was the most wonderful dog I have ever known. It was wonderful seeing your dog on this hike. Beautiful area, could you tell me the park you were hiking please? @@7775Kevin I understand how strong GSD’s can be. I was once married to K9 cop and had some of the most beautiful, loving, strong and intelligent dogs living with us. Obviously when my ex and his partner were on duty, he never wore a harness, but on weekends during his downtime, he always wore a harness. Worked very well for us. 🩵

Wondering, how come he’s not wearing a harness? Wouldn’t that be easier on him… then a lead attached to a collar? 🤷🏻♀️
A shepherd on a harness can be awfully hard to control if they really want to go after something. They are very strong.
We prefer a gentle leader so that I have a bit more control over Benson than what a harness would allow
