Yeah, Sanshou or Sanda is probably the closest thing to kungfu in real combat. It's essentially an amalgamation of traditional martial arts adapted to be effective at real combat.
It's essentially Chinese mma. It takes Kung fu techniques from many styles and incorporates them into a style that can be sparred and practiced full speed well.
jhev gainz yes, thats why taekwando, and karate were originally base on chinese martial arts. Kung fu might not be effective today, but it was certainly effective at a time. Ofc, kung fu is going to suck against mma. Most kung fu styles are more than 200 years old.
The arts that do not allow techniques to be practiced at speed with a resisting opponent will become ineffective, eventually devolving into Aikido and Taichi
6:32 seems really weird as someone who does not watch sanda often that the judge favored the chinese and called ting too early. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Otherwise I really enjoyed it. It's a very well rounded system. I'm impressed. I can't wait to see lighter guys fight. Heavier guys are a bit slower.
I think it's because in sanda, you're allowed to lift up from the hips. You win points if you're opponent falls to the ground. If the clinch was allowed to be longer, you wouldn't really have knees like in Muay thai, you'll just have two guys trying to out wrestle the other guy rather than actually hitting each other.
Professional sanda has knees. Still no elbows though unfortunately. m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=328365135241037&id=100747004669519&ref=m_notif¬if_t=feedback_reaction_generic But guoshu lei tai has elbows and knees, and even uses MMA gloves!
In the majority of combat sports and outside the muay thai world, the high kick and the middle kick are called roundhouse kicks to the head and to the mid section...guess it's translated from taekwondo.
@@soulseer5789 It is effective, but in a fight, they arent going to do ginga or spin a lot. Look up Marcus Aurelio. He's a capoeirista and a fighter, and he executes his moves really well against other fighters

Sanshou Sanda has interesting rules you have get folks off the platform secure a knockdown, or throw down to get points.
look all those fighter, there are strenght, speed, technique!
The foot gear is optional?
It looks optional because in many sanshou fights few players are not using foot gear (guard).
What about the hogo?

Ben Peng no the chinese guy lost a point for getting pushed out of the ring
Does it include locks/submissions?
No its just a combination of kickboxing wrestling and a little judo
people could get seriously injured on that raised platform...
Nice technique!
Muito agarra - agarra!
João Gamer normalmente não é assim. Mas, foi a tático do francês agarrar pra parar o chinês, mas foi um tática bem fraca.
No clinching is lame. Should allow clinching knees, elbows and takedowns but no ground rolling.
Why no ground techniques?
Dude this is olympic. What do you expect, a carnage?

There's no "best" system in anyway of martial arts
mixcolor mj sanda, it’s definitely one of the best. Sanda and Muay Thai.
People sleep on savate too much. I wouldn't call any system best though
@@TheBlidget That man is from France there is a good chance they are already a practitioner of Savate
erin drake agree 100% it’s all about the user
I like this. It's actually a sport, rather than two roided up criminals wailing on each other.
Capoeria or Sanda
Sanda
What is "Capoeria"?? hahahaha
Capoeira Isn't effective for fighting. Sanda is deadly

That black guy shouldn't even been in the ring he was outclassed in every aspect it was like watching White belt fighting a black belt
why wasnt he knocked out then?
If he came until semi final it's not for nothing....
I don't think we're watching the same fight. It was a good match
I've been watching these for like 3 hours and haven't seen a Chinese person even almost lose LOL
