Many people don’t see the point of doing this. I’m personally pulling the speakers out of my airtags to hide them in my car incase any of the cars get stolen. It’s a very reliable and cheap tracking device.
This is not the new AirTag 2024 model now has battery glued to 2 tiny bronze wires. Currently doing this now, removes the battery and realized it was glued to the wires. I removed the battery and it failed to connect. Apple might have caught on to this via complaints. You can get underneath the wire with a small thin blade and slice it. Found this out via Reddit. And yes, another AirTag had to be sacrificed 😢
@@ABP760Hi, I just bought mine today and trying to do a research before popping it open. Do you have instruction video or pictures for the new model? FYI mine said it’s model A2187 in the box. Thanks in advance!
I just did this with the current version of the AirTag. Although the speakers are in a different location, the process is the same and it still works. If you are doing this now (XXNOV2024, be careful when removing the speaker as there are copper connections below it. Be sure to break the seal of the glue surrounding the speaker before removal. Good luck and don't do illegal shit PLEASE!
Great video! Exactly what I needed. Looking for a way to hide an AirTag in my jet ski without it being able to be detected. You just need to remove the inner ring. The pen markings he shows is where you want to pry with a razor or small flat head screwdriver
I don’t understand why would the speaker go off ? If the AirTag is connected to my iPhone, will another foreign iPhone be able to trigger the AirTag speaker ?
Yes, because people were using the AirTags to stalk other people and to track them. So now anybody with an iPhone can make them ring if they are nearby.
Thanks! The Air Tag I bought was this same "model", so it was easy to remove the speaker. The problem was to put it back together. The first time I put it back together it wasn't working, I had to try to remove again some times, but eventually it came back to work, but I had to configure like a new one again.
I don’t know what happened, but I removed the speaker, fallowing this procedure, of a perfectly working AirTag and now I can’t pair the AirTag with my IPhone. It just doesn’t sync, and I didn’t touch any of the circuitry and handled it very carefully. I’m screwed.
No, it wasn’t. I had it hidden in my car and it was working perfectly. It was practically new. I wanted to remove the alert sound, so if for some reason my vehicle got stolen, they wouldn’t know where the AirTag was hidden.
Ahhh, I see now. In the video it looks like you’re inserting the screwdriver into an incision you created in those 3 places. Not behind the ring. I’d been sawing away at the back of my AirTag haha😂
Good video, but why would you be silly and snap your fingers to have all the tabs come out, we have no idea how you released the tabs! Had to go to a different video

Same! I even named the tags "Police Prius" and "Police Jeep" just in case the thieves see the AirTag name lol
Very helpful! Thank you.
Nice
Is the is the new AirTag model?
There is only one model of AirTags. However, before people who found them couldn't make them go off with sound.
This is not the new AirTag

@@ABP760 shit I just opened mine and was very confused that the speaker is not there. Mine were bought in 2023 tho

I’ve just bought one and removed the speaker but there is still a very quiet sound still

Thank you for sharing this!
Lo hice y funciona bien.
Gracias
Que nunca nos roben los carros!! lol
How did you get tothe 3 tabs .. you just snapped your fingers?
I only marked them when I snapped my fingers to show you the location.

Have fun this summer on your jet ski bro!
Thanks, useful guide. I'll put in on my bike now to track it if it's stolen.
I hadn't thought of putting one on my bike... I'll do it too.
hope that the thief doesn't have an iphone.
Works perfectly, thank you.
Glad it helped
Thx! The video was a bit fuzzy but I figured it out. Used a screwdriver from an eyeglasses repair kit.
One airtag done - 6 more to do!
Where are you putting so many aritags? lol
Nice video, thanks for the help!
You bet!

Wait so how did you get to the plastic tabs? The snap doesn’t tell me 😅
At minute 1:50 I show how to remove the tabs. The snap was only to show the location of said tabs.
Should I remove the speaker before pairing it with my iphone?
I would remove it after, that way you can hear the sounds the AirTag makes when you pair it.
Mine still plays a sound after removing the speaker!
Dark magic!
Enjoyed the comedy and the very detailed info Thank You, one chattie little fella disabled on my end.
Nice!

Well I'm glad we didn't fuck it up lol
Won't precise location just point to where the air tag is?
You can only use precise location if you are the owner of the tag.

Oh shit! Could be that the AirTag was already defective?
No, it wasn’t. I had it hidden in my car and it was working perfectly. It was practically new. I wanted to remove the alert sound, so if for some reason my vehicle got stolen, they wouldn’t know where the AirTag was hidden.
Airtag took one for the team.
Superficial damage lol. Still works as intended inside my Jeep.

LOL
You skipped over the most important part. How do you make those cuts?!?
What cuts? the black lines are marking I made to show the location of the tabs below.
Good video, but why would you be silly and snap your fingers to have all the tabs come out, we have no idea how you released the tabs! Had to go to a different video
Great point! I honestly don't remember why I did that lol
Did this today and now its not working
Was it working before doing this? If so, I'm sorry to hear that. I've done it to 4 airtags so far and all of them are working fine.
mine did the same thing, i just kept messing wit the metal twist backplate until it worked again
I've done this to a lot of air tags, never had a problem with any
Use super glue for the sacrificed one
I left it with the tape and ugly looking to remind me of my mistake lol
Kidnappers thank you for your video.
lol
Thanks for skipping how you removed the plastic insert
Sorry! lol
your video is damn blur.
Sorry :P
