  • Located among the Langhe hills, wine lovers have described Barolo as one of Italy’s greatest wines. But Barolo is more than great wine. Located in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is also a world-class cycling destination. The beauty of these cultural landscapes is amazing. You have rolling hills with vineyards as far as the eye can see. On this ride, you do a short loop in a clockwise direction around the entire Barolo area. You mostly ride on quiet back roads with very little traffic. You ride with beautiful views most of the time. The towns on this ride have a lot of history and are very charming. The Langhe area should be on the bucket list for riders that love rolling hills and wine. We recommend this ride for the beginner and the intermediate rider.
In this ride-along video, you ride at the speed of a recreational cyclist. If you want to ride at your own speed, please look below for how you can make that possible with our indoor cycling app Open Road.

Take your indoor cycling to the next level with our indoor cycling app Open Road:
Dive into an immersive indoor cycling experience with our training app ’Open Road’ for Windows. The app transforms your effort into speed and lets you ride the ride as if it was a real outdoor ride. With the app, you get a better and more realistic indoor cycling experience compared to our ride-along videos on UA-cam. The app is compatible with all ANT+ cycling devices, including smart trainers, power meters, and speed sensors. Athletes with spinning and exercise bikes without ANT+ compatibility can control the speed manually and enjoy riding with all the important cycling data such as altitude, distance, speed, heart rate, etc. displayed during the training session.

    Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But with music, opinions are very mixed. So we have added no music. Instead, we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute UA-cam and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, UA-cam, etc…) and pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... We have left the original sound of the ride out. This is because the noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing drowns the natural sound of the surroundings.

I can’t thank you enough for that awesome ride which I had to stop after 30 minutes, but will continue tomorrow. Going uphill was awesome too and I cranked my tension up very high so I could feel a little bit of what you were feeling. It was great! Again, thanks!
