- When his brothers suggested taking Prophet Yusuf out into the woods to play, their father Jacob’s reaction was one of deep insight. He said that it saddens him that they will “remove” Yusuf from him, signifying a gut feeling that something bad will happen to his son which he has no power to prevent. Believers must never underestimate or dismiss such feelings because sometimes these precautionary, protective thoughts are a form of divine inspiration to warn us against or prepare us for pending harm.

I had a gut feeling something very bad was going to happen a week before, it was very intense and it also felt like a countdown to something awful. On the 7th day suddenly we had a gas explosion and fire ripped through my home with my 3sons inside. On that terrible day I lost my eldest son 9year old also both my 4year old and 16months old boys nearly lost their lives both put on life support machines. With Allahs blessing they returned to me however my beloved eldest son was removed from my life. So yes guts do say a lot which we don't understand.

That gut feeling is intuition. Steve Jobs called it, "more powerful than intellect". The stronger your relationship with Allah and connected with your own spiritual the more you intuition will speak to you. It can go up and down just like our faith. It can warn us about people and situations if we listen. but we dismiss it. Or we just can't avoid it. That inner feeling is also connected to being an Empath. To feel the energy in the room between people and yourself. Nothing supernatural about it. Just the sixth sense. Some are more in tuned than others. like anything else its a gift from Allah if cultivated right...

it's so amazing how you can pick little stuff from the Quran. It is truly Allah guiding you. It makes me realize that understanding Quran you need so much focus and insight. I really pray and want that Allah SWT gives me this insight too. May Allah reward you immensely for sharing. :)

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah says: 'I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him).

It is like when I get bad gut feelings (ilham) about potential marriage prospects. I trust Allah is guiding me because I am praying, avoiding major sin etc and keeping my interaction with non-mahram halal. May Allah help and guide us all. Ameen
I used to feel like a stone hit my heart, a sharp little pain whenever the proposal was bad. Al hamdulillah
sometimes its hard to diffrentiate between "Ilham" and "Waswasaa" though.
oh yeah I can agree with that. Actually when it comes to decisions, there is a dua for making the right decisions so the gut feeling allows you to make the right decision :P

when the ashabe kahf decided to go for the cave it's not easy..ond wrong turn and you get caught. when Hazrat Musa AS went towards firaun it wasn't straightforward there was a possibility he might get caught.

first of all do shalat 5 times a day frequently,and leave big or small sins...then u'll know thats bad feeling is from Allah not from Syaitan....
It doesn’t need to be anything bad.... I get a feeling... a sort of confirmation that something I want will happen. Like that feeling gives me assurance and it has come true twice before.

You can't always tell if the guy feeling is correct at the particular moment however if it is and you avoid harm or sin, it makes you more grateful because you know Allah is guiding you and this leads you to be a better Muslim so you should always consider the gut feeling in my opinion.

Masya Allah it made me remind that time when I had a plan a trip with my friend, but I really had a bad feeling its like thats my last day. I really scared to die when Im having fun... Then I really want to cancel it but my friend had leave his city so what I did is take wudhu before I went, I believe there would be 10 angels protect me if Im in wudhu (I read it from hadits), and then I said to myself that this trip may not just for having fun, I should made it be da'wah trip and I should really tadabur by this trip. Alhamdulillahh nothing happen, may be Allah didnt like if I just do things just for have fun astagfirullah.

I usually get dreams, if something bad gonna happen with me. I don't know it has been happening with me since so many years. I don't understand it at that point but realized later that how Merciful is Allah Almighty is with me that He wants me to be cautious. Subhan Allah

Thanks bro Nouman I have been listening your voice ( translation of Quran suras) for few months and I am still listening, Insh Allh in the future I hope to do success from understanding Quran translated to English to be one of the servents of Allah who think about day and night how The children of Adam would be save from iblis who is our enemy of all.

My intuition told me something is wrong with my body. So I kept going back and forth to different doctors. I was pushy cause my gut feeling wouldn't me let rest although doctors told me you have nothing you may just be stressed , and a friend kept saying me I worry too much and should calm myself (it's true I was an overthinker, but I knew this is not from overthinking). So, then they discovered that disease I don't want to mention the name. I got then two surgeries for that. Thanks to God making me to go to the doctor and help discover it on time.

Ive been going through health issues since last year and still on going now so many different doctors so many blood work X-rays and I still can’t seem to get an answer I have couple more tests to get done praying Allah helps me and shows me and my family a way out

So what do we do in that situation? Ive been in this situation for over 1 year and the feeling is getting stronger and more constant now in the past few months. But I have no solid evidence or reason that this gut feeling is right apart from dreams i have had where i thought I saw whats gonna happen to me in the future. But that could be nafs also right? Do I just sit back and leave it all to Allah swt

My gut feeling is telling me to leave my city and stay away from my family members. It's like my blessings are blocked as I stay close to them because of their constant negative opinion, bad history, drama and guilt tripping.
I believe that Allah speaks to us through our heart, so i always follow my heart my intuition

yes ...absolutely...!brother...!very often we have these intentions ...but how can we escape from it...?the honourable nabi ya'coob alaihissalaam couldn't change his fate(!separation from his beloved. son) even after realized the coming danger by this good ilhaam..!!!we are erasing our life history by the eraser called time.the erasing part can be changed into good or bad deeds by oir efforts...only we can say..'subhaanaka laa ilma lanaa illaa maa allanthanaa innak anthal aleemul hakeem...!but anyway beautiful explanation...through this word"layahzununee".. we see the pain of nabi yacoob alaihissalaam and we understood that his sabr towards thaqdheer...!jazaakumullaahu kairan brother...!for showing the words of Allaah as "scenes &emotions.".

how can you distinguish a gut feeling from a suspicion?
because some people might get their gut feeling confused with baseless suspicion and assume wrong of others...
It is true. I had a gut feeling, from the beginning, that something I had agreed on wouldnt work out and it didnt. It was God's way of telling me something better is awaiting me.
Facing almost same situation, still have a choice, but difficult to decide as everything has planned.
