    Destashing was actually therapeutic for me! I had so much that I truly didn’t use anymore and now it’s giving someone else joy!☺️

    Love the part where you said, "You don't have to keep it just because someone gave it to you. The joy is in the giving andd the receiving ." That is so freeing...now I can pass that joy on, thank you!

    I have a friend who works with young children. I have been going through my paper stash and giving it to her to use with the kids. It's hard to let go of but it's getting a new life-kids crafts. ❤️ from Colorado

      It is so wonderful to see the supplies getting used! And to know that they are helping kids discover their love of crafting is an added bonus 💜

    I open my stuff in the car and destash any item I don't like or will never use and put them in my donate bag I keep in my car. This comes in handy especially when I buy bags of stationery from the thrift store. I scrutinize everything before it takes up space in my tiny workspace. I thought I would regret it, but I never even remember what I got rid of. I try to only live with things I absolutely love.

    My 2 rooms in my house plus our “barn” (metal building 50’x35’) are my craft space. But the studio upstairs is the main work area and it needs to have a good destashing.........I just can’t seem to let go of all my “stuff”. I’ll get there I’m sure. Maybe my granddaughter would enjoy the stickers, she loves to work in that room with me when she visits.

      Oh, I am sure she would enjoy that! Most kiddos love free reign to play with stickers!

      Scrapbooking is expensive !!!!! It takes a long time to build up the supplies to begin scrapbooking and the dollars being spent adds up fast. I've been documenting memories over four years and have spent a lot but is fun.

      I've spent a good amount over the years, but definitely have accumulated supplies over time. You should totally start with what you can find on hand! It is a fun hobby and super worth it in my opinion.

    What if you have some craft supplies ( like stamping metal,jewelry) that you have a small amount so it’s not taking up a lot of space. And you keep thinking “ I just need to practice this, there’s a learning curve and I’m not very good at this. But I can be. And I just love the idea of creating stamped metal jewelry ! And I will practice this craft ....eventually.
    This is my problem!

      I get that! You just have to be honest with yourself as to whether or not your are willing to invest the time to get better at that particular craft. If the answer is yes, make a plan for when you will start, and go at it! If the answer is no, it might be time to let those supplies go.

    Can I ask what are you using to store the oversized artist paper on your door?

    We live in an RV and whenever anything new comes in something has to leave. Now with my craft supplies....I’m stuffed to the gills! About once a month I destash

    I have a lot I can get rid of. The problem is that my 21 year old daughter is liking crafting more and has a hard time getting rid of ANYTHING! Just because you can see the possibilities in it doesn’t mean you have to keep it!! We might be moving our craft room from one basement room to the other so we are going to have to let go of a lot!!

    • @ScrappyWife
      @ScrappyWife  3 роки тому +1

      Yup, sometimes it is hard as crafters because we ALWAYS see possibilities in the things around us!

    If you're not using it doesn't bring you joy anymore.I find it helpful to give stuff Im not using to my daughter. Her eyes grow big with excitment!🙈

    What's the difference between destashing and decluttering LOL

    • @ScrappyWife
      @ScrappyWife  2 місяці тому

      Destashing would be actually getting rid of things - like throwing them out or donating. Decluttering is generally just putting things away in a more organized manner so your space does not look as decluttered.
