Your tutorials are really helpful. How are shares with no par value assessed ?

Share prices in Grade 12 have different values. It is given in the question or you must work out the average price for all shares. Pre-CAPS we worked with par value shares.
On the retained income. The paid section. How did you get the 800000 ?😭

Go in the video to 5min 10 sec. You will see in the Ordinary Share Capital note I started with 500 000 shares and then issued 300 000 shares extra. Only THEN did I pay a dividend so the number of shares in issue is 800 000.
so if you not given net profit after tax , how do you calculate net profit after tax ?

They then need to give you either the Income Tax amount, or the Net profit before tax amount. If you receive the Income Tax amount then you will take that amount Ex R20 000 x 70/30. That is if the tax is 30%. You want the amount after tax so that will the 100% - 30% tax.
Because there are different kinds of shares, but in CAPS grade 12 we only teach you about Ordinary shares and therefore that is the name. "Ordinary" refers to the type of share and it is the Capital of the company, therefor Ordinary Share Capital. The money came from issuing shares.

Where is 800000 from?
@Millie Mariè van Eyssen where did you get the 0,25 ??
25 cents is R0.25, we work in rands and not in cents.
is ordinary share capital an asset or expense?
It falls under OWNERS EQUITY. It is not an income or expense, but just OWNERS EQUITY.
@ thank you ♥️ & i love the editing on all your videos. helps me understand better.
what if the retained income was not given?
how do you calculate retained income?
thank you
why is it called the "ordinary share capital"?
Because there are different kinds of shares, but in CAPS grade 12 we only teach you about Ordinary shares and therefore that is the name. "Ordinary" refers to the type of share and it is the Capital of the company, therefor Ordinary Share Capital. The money came from issuing shares.
@ ok, so is the amount that goes to Retained Income always considered a loss? if the answer's yes, then why is it so?
Hi mam, please do an example
Will do soon
Im writing trials tomorrow lol ಥ_ಥ
