As a successful and independent restaurant manager, I was shocked when my father introduced me to my ‘future husband.’ That guy was arrogant, and I was not interested in marrying him. I would NOT want to be involved in any kind of arranged marriage. I admire this girl for having the courage to stand up to her father and insist that she be allowed to pick her own husband.

But both "Love" marriage and "arranged" marriage can result to a healthy married life or a disaster.

Arranged marriage and forced marriage are one and the same thing. Do all you can to stop your parents doing this to you. If need be get a restraining order against them. Recently the UK government has made some very positive steps to end forced marriage but there is more work to be done.
