I definitely love the new nook. Personally speaking, the leather armchairs would definitely complement the place and I'd put them there as well for extra seatings, plus the tall lamp as well.
This version look much more cozy and functional. I would like to make only one suggestion. A small table/ plantstand (just large enough for a cup and snack) to give you a place to place a cup of tea while you are reading and snuggling in.
To be honest I hated that marble table but loved the leather armchairs. I like it better now but would like to see the chairs back 😀. In any case enjoy reading 😀
i personally liked the first makeover better because i feel like it would be awkward to sit on the bench and read?? but the first one was missing the bookshelf!! either way, they look nice. happy reading!
I could see the two chairs and table across from the bench, creating a little conversation area when you are entertaining. Just a thought. It turned out very well. Tina. Love what you are doing to the basement so far.
The new reading nook is absolutely beautiful! The bench looks comfortable and has plenty of room to curl up and read a good book. Thank you for sharing all your great projects with us, looking forward to your next video.
I'm lowkey so glad for this update! I love being all cozied up when I read and the previous nook looked so rigid and formal. The bench feels like such a better option for cozy times 😊
Wow Tina ! I’m so impressed with your decor looks absolutely beautiful & so elegant ! Wow it looks like one of those beautiful staged showrooms at ikea !
LOVE! This is such an improvement on the first makeover, honestly looked like a waiting room and now looks so cozy! Only yhing I would change is the bookshelf, I think it would look so much more cozy with a warm wood tone rather than navy. But still looks really cool!
Totally agree. Even though the global look is much better than the first version, the shelf and the bench look like 2 separate unmaching pieces. It would probably make the space feel bigger and more cohesive if they were in similar colors.
You are so very talented! All of your rooms are beautiful. I love this new look and am looking forward to what you do with those chairs and table next!!
I love this nook a lot better however I would put your table and an arm chair with a light on the wall next to the bookshelf , which I love btw to really complete the look. Great job Tina
So cute and definitely an upgrade! Beautiful work as always. I feel like you could totally bring those faux leather chairs and stone table back in, then add a rug to create a little reading corner & conversation area. The styles totally go together!
The new nook is so cute I love version two. Blue is my favorite color and your nook wall color is what i am drawn too. And that bench what can I say it’s lovely and so well done
Hi Tina. I’m new to your channel but absolutely love the basement project. You are such an inspiration for someone who has a design background but is new to DIY woodworking. I enjoy your videos so much. Keep up the good work!
I think if you put the two painted chairs back in, facing towards your bench and bookshelf, it could be totally a cosy little spot that both you and Brian could enjoy at the same time. The DIY shelf and bench turned out great, just think having the chairs facing this, would be more seating and cozy.
Have you read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" Millennium Series? I know it's about 17 years old, but this series is truly the best I have ever read. (You may need to skip about the first 70 pages or so, if I remember correctly, before the story really gets rolling)
Yes, you are pros are building Ikea furniture 😁The built-in bookshelf looks really good. Yaaaay, I'm so glad you picked up Pachinko 💃🏽😊I must say I prefer this makeover to the first one because it looks and works better as a reading nook. Well done, Tina!
What a cute and cozy space! I've been on a reading spree lately, here are some I enjoyed: Convenience Store Woman, The House in the Cerulean Sea, It Happened One Summer (it's a steamyyyy one), The Song of Achilles, Invisible Girl, The Silent Patient, Anxious People, The Vanishing Half.
I really loved the chairs from the first option but I this the new version is really nice! I’m sure you can use the chairs in the space somewhere else.
It looks great, I love it! You could probably incorporate one of your chairs and marble table by extending the reading nook down the wall to the left of the bookcase. I love the redo! 📚
It looks nice! You are so talented and creative. I loved the chairs and table and kept waiting for them to be added along with the bench and shelf in that nook!
The bench and bookcase look so good. Maybe try the lamp there because you can't have too much light when you read. I love all you have done in your house.
I like this version better, it's custom, more your style. You can always use the chairs somewhere else in the basement since the space is so huge, plenty of room for a sitting area elsewhere. Nicely done!
love how cozy and cohesive the space is! It's a great evolution from the first makeover, which was still cute but this one feels more substantial and complete. Here are some book recs for anyone interested :) -House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune: wholesome story about a social worker who has to investigate a mysterious, top secret orphanage with kids who have magical powers. -The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller: a retelling of the Achilles / Trojan war myth from the point of view of Patroclus, the companion of Achilles who is usually forgotten in history. It also has a touch of romance. -Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo: fun heist books with a lovable bunch of misfits. There's some enemies to lovers, some slow burn, witty banter. The characters really are the best part. -Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston: enemies to lovers story between the son of the first woman president of the United States and a prince of England. The characters swear a lot, a bit too much imo that it takes you out sometimes, but it is a very funny and optimistic story that leaves you feeling very full.
I am a reading maniac, this nook looks so cozy! Some of my favorites recently have been: Once Upon a River All the Light We Cannot See Station Eleven Revelator Project Hail Mary Dark Matter How High We Go in the Dark Certain Dark Things
I like this so much more than the first attempt! As for reading recommendations, anything by Shakespeare and all of the classic literature you can find!
The first version was less visually appealing but way more practical.. I'd definitely add the chairs back in because as a reader, reading on a bench seems uncomfy. Love the DIYs in both videos :)
Tina you should add the original pieces back into the nook, the two chairs and the table! you’ll need a table to sit your coffee on…maybe also a stool to rest your feet if you’re sitting in one of the chairs but that’s just my ideal that you’re home and it’s beautiful
I think this nook looks more cozy than the first one. Only thing I’d do different would be to have the bench be deeper so you could really get cozy like twin size ish. Still love what you’re doing with the new house
I love that you go back and say 'no I want this different, it could be better'. Honestly the monies and lack of energy (fulltime work is oef) is what would keep me from doing that.
Few of my favorites I have read this year: Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas, Blackout by Dhonielle Clayton, Tiffany D. Jackson, Nic Stone, Angie Thomas, Ashley Woodfolk and Nicola Yoon, You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson, The Color Purple by Alice Walker, Piranesi by Susanna Clarke and Circe by Madeline Miller. And if you read comics too, Heartstopper-series by Alice Oseman and The Girl from the Sea by Molly Knox Ostertag are must!
Versión two is definitely better, you should consider bringing back the chairs with a table and small lamp. They look a bit more comfortable to read in. The bench is nice but a bit narrow to get comfy in. Cozy Library vibes ❤️❤️❤️
Love the new nook but do have a suggestion. I noticed a gap between the bench and the post which would perfect for a built in leaning cushion. Almost like a chaise lounge, so you can really relax. A little table near the post would be useful too.
You are so talented. I’m nervous with the tools but you are helping me with those nerves 😄 And love yours and Brian’s relationship and his darn blue shirt hahaha
I really love what you did in the reading nook I truly love it the only thing that I would of done also was to paint the front of the draws that beautiful blue but that's me put it truly is a lovely area thankyou always for your wonderful videos I really injoy them🥰
Book recs: Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, The Hours by Michael Cunningham, Nettle and Bone by T. Kingfisher, The Yiddish Policeman's Union by Michael Chabon... I have more if you want them lol
Hi Tina I definitely like the 2nd version better. However I would add the chairs and table back. Especially the table, you’ll need somewhere to put your tea!
Okay, not gonna lie, the first makeover of this space didn’t feel quite right. This is much better! I totally love it!
I definitely love the new nook. Personally speaking, the leather armchairs would definitely complement the place and I'd put them there as well for extra seatings, plus the tall lamp as well.
I agree 100%
I was thinking this too
And a rug! Would make it super cozy as I reckon with the other chairs and the lamp 😍
Haha, was thinking the same!
Thinking the same thing; just in front of the nook, facing the wall, etc...
This version look much more cozy and functional. I would like to make only one suggestion.
A small table/ plantstand (just large enough for a cup and snack) to give you a place to place a cup of tea while you are reading and snuggling in.

That's a great idea.
I'm thinking if she put the chairs across from the bench, she could sit in a chair and put her feet up on the bench while reading. 😁
I like this idea!!!!!
The new reading nook is absolutely beautiful! The bench looks comfortable and has plenty of room to curl up and read a good book. Thank you for sharing all your great projects with us, looking forward to your next video.
You did a great job! This last version is my favorite. I would bring back at least one of the chairs from before and maybe both.
The best Mother’s Day gift set 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm lowkey so glad for this update! I love being all cozied up when I read and the previous nook looked so rigid and formal. The bench feels like such a better option for cozy times 😊
Loving version 2. It feels complete. First version was beautiful but this is more my style. Great job Tina
Now that's pretty looking. The chairs and the table would also complement I think. Cozy book it looks ❤️ loved it tina 🎉
I love how this can be adapted to fit any space. Mushroom, entry way, laundry room, bedroom, office
Wow Tina ! I’m so impressed with your decor looks absolutely beautiful & so elegant ! Wow it looks like one of those beautiful staged showrooms at ikea !
I love the way this turned out. It feels quaint and cozy for reading.
LOVE! This is such an improvement on the first makeover, honestly looked like a waiting room and now looks so cozy! Only yhing I would change is the bookshelf, I think it would look so much more cozy with a warm wood tone rather than navy. But still looks really cool!

Definitely the 2nd look! You did a beautiful job with everything. I love the picture with the light over it.
You inspire me so much because you make these diy's look easy and complete them in short timeframe. Looks absolutely stunning!!
Absolutely love this design a lot better than the first. The first was lovely but I adore this one.
You are so very talented! All of your rooms are beautiful. I love this new look and am looking forward to what you do with those chairs and table next!!

Love the redo! The plants totally changed that window
Super cute!

This fits the vibe so much better!!! Love this refresh ❤

I really loved the chairs from the first option but I this the new version is really nice! I’m sure you can use the chairs in the space somewhere else.
Love it! That wall color is chef’s kiss
Catherine Sadman - Something in the water. Such an excellent story and keep you in the edge! 🤗😍
Version 2 is beautiful!!! I love it!
Love the changes😍and looking forward to your next project😊
Love love love! So amazing!!! I love them both, but the 2nd looks more relaxing 🥰
Love this. Can’t wait to see what rug you put in here!
Muuuuuch more cozier! The other chairs opposit this space with a rug and the side table and the lamp would make it cozy cozy
I definitely like this redo it looks more comfy💕
My favorite of all books is Memoirs of a Geisha. GREAT book!!
This looks really nice, good job!
Love this remake, very cozy
I think this is my favorite make over!! Love it!!
Version 2 looks Beautiful 😍😍😍😍😍😍

You always come through with great ideas 💡. Very nice Tina.
Like the first one but oh my God love ❤ love ❤ this new make over.
Painting the bookshelf the same color as the walls was a great idea.
I think there's room for the chairs, too.
Much better. The first makeover felt a bit off this feels much more like a cosy reading nook that you were wanting 👏
way better than before
❤ awesome ! Also the two of you are great together...
love how cozy and cohesive the space is! It's a great evolution from the first makeover, which was still cute but this one feels more substantial and complete.

I love the new design you're amazing in your abilities! I would recommend you start reading all of the Colleen Hoover books.
Love the new nook but do have a suggestion. I noticed a gap between the bench and the post which would perfect for a built in leaning cushion. Almost like a chaise lounge, so you can really relax. A little table near the post would be useful too.

Wow that's incredible! I already loved it before, but you exceed yourself 😍
Love it.
Awesome makeover tina! Love what you're doing! Make sure you check out Darcy Coates. Love her scary stories. Good for this upcoming Halloween 🎃
Not too sure it would be comfortable but looked beautiful!
Love it! Looks so cozy. I liked #1 but it did look more firmalish
I really love what you did in the reading nook I truly love it the only thing that I would of done also was to paint the front of the draws that beautiful blue but that's me put it truly is a lovely area thankyou always for your wonderful videos I really injoy them🥰
So much better v1 looked unfinished v2 is complete look more cozy but then I wouldn’t expect anything less from you💫
This definitely feels like a better booknook but I do miss the 'leather' chairs. Curious to see where they will end up!
Love it 🥰 version 2 is perfect ❤️
I liked the first one too but this is great!
super cozy! Will you add a fluffy rug to further the coziness?
Love the look, Pachinko is an amazing book!
yes, i agree much better, and it will look better once the surrounding area is also done, wow
As usual, great job!
Version 2 is 😍 😌 gorgeous
Just, WOW! Love it!
Totally awesome!!!!👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Beautiful
This one is much better
It feels more like a book nook
Book recs: Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, The Hours by Michael Cunningham, Nettle and Bone by T. Kingfisher, The Yiddish Policeman's Union by Michael Chabon... I have more if you want them lol
I feel like the trim on the bench drawers should also be navy to tie it together? Beautiful diy!
Hi Tina I definitely like the 2nd version better. However I would add the chairs and table back. Especially the table, you’ll need somewhere to put your tea!
much better!!
SO MUCH BETTER
How has the Smastad held up to sitting? I've heard for many people that it begins to warp under the weight of regular sitting.
I like the new version.😊😃
Excellent video Tina.
