Just before I watch the video, I agree with the title and have some points on that as well. 1. it really does feel like His run has peaked at this point; having the most defenses (10+) and longest reigning. 2. Unfortunately, his face turn & his idol's return to WWE has dewatered his 'CM Punk Top Title jumpshipping' angle that hes building towards. 3. Samoa Joe, ROH & its championships would look like chumps if MJF won, due to the sacrifices made to get here.
If there was a rematch clause in AEW, I believe the best course of action would be to build up after Samoa Joe's loss for a rematch in the weeks or month to follow. But this is every possibility I can foresee: 1. MJF wins against Joe, and MJF takes time off from TV; 2. Samoa Joe wins and gets the loudest heel heat ever seen from the Long Island crowd; 3. Devil interferes and costs Samoa Joe the win, and sets up a match between the Devil and MJF; 4. Devil interferes and costs MJF the win, causing Samoa Joe to win the title (worst outcome); 5. Devil causes a DQ by attacking MJF in the ring, forcing Samoa Joe to save him. All of these are possible, but this is a messy situation since MJF has a shoulder injury, and hip injury, while Samoa Joe relinquished the longest ROH Television Championship reign to get to this moment. I wonder how Tony will take care of this.
I'm surprised Cole went along with this story line when he's hurt we saw Cole be the replacement for Ciampa against Gargano we got some awesome matches with that even tho we all wanted Ciampa at the time Sometimes moving on and saving it for later is the better option
AEW needs to attach the rocket to Swerve. Especially if they aren’t treating Adam Copeland as the alpha and main star of the company. MJF losing to Joe is great because then he doesn’t get pinned by another up and comer. People won’t mind if Joe only has the belt for 2-4 months as well being that he’s already a legend in the sport.
You nailed this 100%. I wish he wouldve dropped to White during the last match. They couldve played it as the Devil cost and injured MJF during that match and both Devil and MJF disappear until MJF comes back and wants the Devil. Easy storyline build there
MJF vs Jay White at Full Gear was easily my least favorite match on the PPV. I have been wanting MJF to lose the belt for a while now. In my opinion his run has just gone stale and boring for me. Too many things going on at once. He should have dropped it to Joe their first time, should have dropped it to Jay White and if he doesn't drop it to Joe this time around, just terrible booking.
AEW's booking has been horrible. They have been using MJF to compensate for the overall show being horrible. TK is using him in way to many things at once to save the show and that is why he haa become stale. This isn't and MJF issue. It is a TK /AEW issue

The concern with taking MJF off tv for an extended amount of time is he’s really popular with the tv ratings, and considering their circumstances they can’t really be too fast and loose with it. I think story wise his reign definitely feels like it’s going through the motions (I would’ve had Jay win) but if they do let Max sit out for a bit they better have something pretty captivating ready to go.
MJF is not a big difference maker in terms of TV ratings.. He's good but he's not a mainstream name like that. The current people watching every week is the core fans that would still watch regardless if he were on the show or not

One thing I'd like is for Max to reveal pre World's End that he will be staying with AEW so that after he is cost the title by The Devil, he's then beat down mercilessly and taken out. It gets him off TV to heal and takes away the fans' happiness of him having re-signed. As for Joe, I think a run from now till DoN would be class, and I'd say you have him drop it to a now babyface Swerve. Max could be out a while, and I think long term his feud is with The Devil. So ride this Swerve momentum, and let's get him in the main event. He's getting really positive reactions and is an all-around awesome wrestler. He'd be a great choice as champion.
I'll be honest with you maybe he should drop the title but I just don't believe Joe as champion right now. Joe has not been booked good in AEW to make me feel confident in him being champion of the whole company. Personally if there's anyone who could benefit from taking ot from Max is Swerve. Dude is hot right now after that match with Hangman. Strap the rocket to him. Take Max out of the title picture entirely. Let Swerve carry this division with other people, and have Max do his own thing for a bit. I know some people are gonna be upset that "The Bidding War of 2024" storyline has been quietly dropped but other stuff got in the way. Really it's a tough decision either way.

I definitely agree. As much as I love MJF as World Champion they really have overexposed him and really pushed his baby face push. Now I can understand some of it if Adam Cole is the Devil overworking MJF so then it’s easier for him to take the title from him but it’s gotten to the point where MJF is in situations where he just shouldn’t be able to win and it makes the challenger look dumb if they lose to MJF. I hate that Jay White lost, it made all the sense in the world with how the booking was being done for Jay White to win at Full Gear with Bullet Club Gold injuring him to the point they just had to give the belt to Jay White. Joe also just vacated the TV title which he had a record setting 500+ day reign as champion to go after the title so it will bury ROH and Joe if he dropped a title to then just lose the match for the title he really wanted.
The only issue I’d have with Joe being champion is what would they have him do and how long would he hold it? He definitely could be world champion but I don’t see his reign being booked well and I really don’t want a transitional world champion.
MJF is my fav wrestler atm, but I agree. I just don't think Joe should be the successor because idk if the world title does much for him, it's like giving Jericho the world chip - it's cool but he's a legend and building up other talents would just be a better idea. I think let MJF retain in his city, and then he puts over the winner of the continental classic (who I hope will be Swerve!).
Also - it has very little to do with MJF himself. I do not think his character has gotten stale at all imo, if anything I've found it refreshing and cool that MJF can work with so many people and it never felt very convoluted. It's more so the fact that I think MJF (aside from the Adam Cole story bc its incomplete ofc) has shown us some incredible work. He's worked many different styles of matches and has appeared on most of AEW's programming this year For his own health and for the health of the product, MJF needs a break to recover.

I provided an alternative because one, CM Punk was the biggest draw and I think he was going to be a part of ROH when he was feuding with Samoa Joe, whether it be turning Collision into ROH or just him winning the ROH TV Championship. Therefore if CM Punk would go to ROH then I think MJF would to, especially if he says he doesn't want to be All Elite but also decides not to go anywhere else. My idea isn't terrible it just doesn't make a lot of sense because Tony Khan decided not to play an "evil authority figure" who doesn't want MJF to leave his company with his top title. There's like 2 versions of how MJF should have been booked this year on PartsFunKnown. One is specifically about MJF the other is about how CM Punk should have come back but in both CM Punk aligns himself with MJF. There are also two ROH invasion videos on the same UA-cam channel under the Fantasy Booking Warfare playlist which is a few weeks old but it's a similar direction I would take, granted with a lot of hindsight because I never thought of an ROH invasion until that video was made but technically the best version starts in 2024 so I'd still be able to pull it off.

Also - it has very little to do with MJF himself. I do not think his character has gotten stale at all imo, if anything I've found it refreshing and cool that MJF can work with so many people and it never felt very convoluted. It's more so the fact that I think MJF (aside from the Adam Cole story bc its incomplete ofc) has shown us some incredible work. He's worked many different styles of matches and has appeared on most of AEW's programming this year
For his own health and for the health of the product, MJF needs a break to recover.

I provided an alternative because one, CM Punk was the biggest draw and I think he was going to be a part of ROH when he was feuding with Samoa Joe, whether it be turning Collision into ROH or just him winning the ROH TV Championship. Therefore if CM Punk would go to ROH then I think MJF would to, especially if he says he doesn't want to be All Elite but also decides not to go anywhere else. Two, it's no different than Jey Uso "quitting" SmackDown then going to Raw.

@@polkaputo3226 you do for storyline reasons but Tony Khan doesn't know how to progress a storyline like I do. My idea isn't terrible it just doesn't make a lot of sense because Tony Khan decided not to play an "evil authority figure" who doesn't want MJF to leave his company with his top title. There's like 2 versions of how MJF should have been booked this year on PartsFunKnown. One is specifically about MJF the other is about how CM Punk should have come back but in both CM Punk aligns himself with MJF. There are also two ROH invasion videos on the same UA-cam channel under the Fantasy Booking Warfare playlist which is a few weeks old but it's a similar direction I would take, granted with a lot of hindsight because I never thought of an ROH invasion until that video was made but technically the best version starts in 2024 so I'd still be able to pull it off.

M.J.F. doesn't seem like a legit World Champion. Every week he talks & says the same thing. AEW should focus on 7 star matches. Instead of pointless storylines & talking. AEW has been not making 7 star matches lately. Which looks bad. Especially when you have the AEW Continental classic. Which tournaments are supposed to be based on having amazing matches.
