This was suppose to be an battle with the Virginia Mass Band. Unfortunately, there were some issues and Virginia couldn't make it.
Damn Ncab sacking😳😳😳
I hope that baby in the Eupho section got ear plugs in. His ears gonna be damaged for life.
I am going to be honest with you all. Just playing loud is starting to get boring. It is the same thing every time to see who blows the loudest with the better arrangement. It seems like some people from around the SWAC (alumni's) got together and said lets see who can have the best Mass band from your state (GAMB, MMB, NOASB, NCMB) whos next and all of them copy some band style from the SWAC. This is exciting and it gets boring fast to see all the bands have the same style with one goal in mind, to blow out the other band with no/very little Musicality what so ever. Good job thou to the students and directors involved in these bands keep up the good work. Much respect for you all putting in the hard work and giving our kids something to look forward to. Its just getting boring fast for me.
Are you saying there’s no musicality in what these groups are doing? I think when you make blanket statements like that you shit on all the arrangers and directors who ARE still working very hard to be musical and introduce ideas with this “style of play”. Arrangements and style of play is important. Cranking and playing loud is not simply synonymous. It takes skill and musical maturity on the horn to crank properly. And it takes skill and talent to write and voice for power properly.
If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all. Keep your back handed compliment, sir
I don’t see the goal of your message…. We’re giving kids something positive to do for the summer, plus this helps them grow as players and helps them network with people who have marched all across the country. There’s more to the NC band culture. We’re not just “loud”. We have control, discipline, and yea we’re aggressive(is that a bad thing?) but we’re definitely demonstrating real talent and playing real music
thats like saying im tired of guitar solos in rock n roll songs. Cranking up is s style of play unique to HBCU style band.
