- Simeon was a faithful man who trusted that God would be faithful to all of His promises. When Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the temple, then, Simeon recognized and embraced Him not only as the source of his own peace, but also as the Messiah who would be the glory of Israel and the light of the world. In this message from Luke 2:29-32, Alistair Begg encourages each of us to embrace the Lord Jesus as Simeon did, finding in Him the fulfillment of all that God has promised.
Scripture: Luke 2:29-32

I said the same prayer as a child. I need & love starting my day with TFL.
Me too, same prayer at early ages.
Aye, Alistair . . . Nunc Dimittis !!! For there shall come a great "departing" and then the man of sin be revealed. Even so, Come Christ !!! 🥰
Thomas Cranmer's blood was shed as a pelican's for his children in the faith, fulfilling the prophecy of Henry VIII, when Henry changed Cranmers heraldic crest from cranes to pelicans years before his martyrdom.
King Henry VIII and Cranmer both never knew the name of Jesus. They knew him as "Iesus". As did all believers prior to the writing of the Cambridge edition of The KJV.
The "iote" was changed and no one dared reveal that truth until now.
Matthew 5:18 . . . Read from the 1611 KJV and all versions prior pass forward to the babes in the faith the truth that Christ knew 1600 years before it was done . . . "till heaven and earth pass, one iote or tittle shall in no wise pass from the law . . . "
I tell you the "iote", in the Name of Christ especially, passed from the law at the hands of King Charles I of England with the dissemination of the 1629 KJV and the insertion of the letter "J" into the English alphabet.
Was that act not itself a "nunc dimmitta" from the law ???
Come and See . . .
As you spoke it in your summation prayer . . . let them come and take him at his word. Indeed, Come and See His Word.
amen.
He came to his own, and his own accepted him not...there is a mystery in this
They were too preoccupied.
