Guys. Twitch chat. He used your own fervor for his gain. He knew you would jump on the tennis meme if he resisted, and you did. He played you like a God damn book, you fiddleheads
Just fyi for all uninformed viewers, there was drama. Jerma suffocated inside of the shuffler machine. RIP Jerma It's also worth noting that Jerma set up an ai to make streams for him before the incident, the Jerma AI will continue streaming on Jerma's channel
I'm a Graphics Operator for live television productions so this stream is SUPER interesting to me! Thanks for the insight DougDoug. I'm kind of interested in putting in some work with an Esports Twitch group at my University, not that I expect to be putting on these sorts of productions but getting this kind of behind the scenes look is helpful!
I would watch every stream on youtube if you simulcasted them, not for the chat interaction frankly. I would watch just for background noise and being able to watch live rather than having to wait for vods to come out. I have watched almost every vod on your channel, and ive been watching you only through youtube, I think i have gone to your twitch chat once or twice but most of the time i watch vods. There is nothing wrong with not interacting with the yt audience and my epectation would be that you arent going to acknowledge us.
Admittedly I haven't watched youtube streams, but what doug says about it being bad at around 2:10:00 I feel like about twitch. The circle-jerkness and emote spam that I've come to associate with twitch is just like watching a bunch of kids doing their own thing. Culture I'm not part of, I suppose.
I’ve watched both, and I think it just depends on what you put more attention on If twitch chat was unmoderated and ignored it’d be horrible and spammy too It’s the internet. The unfunny and horrible people exist everywhere. You just have to learn how to keep them out! Side note: it was funny when both chats started spamming “MOVIE” at the same time lol
Yeah, honestly, I feel the same lol. I've watched and participated in streams on both UA-cam and Twitch. And I feel like I'm able to more get a feel of other chatters and such on UA-cam, because Twitch chats tend to just be full of memes, emotes, and copypastas. But it is cool (or at least interesting) that these two platforms have ended up creating two different chatting experiences/feels. (And also of course a lot of it will also come down to the individual streamers and the communities that they cultivate too.)
I would 100% watch doug live on youtube. I try to catch his twitch streams sometimes, but I just don't like the twitch platform and try to avoid using it whenever possible. I understand the reasons why doug would prefer twitch, but even if its just to watch, I think it would be really nice to have it more accessible on UA-cam. Either way, I'll still be watching the vods!
1:07:55 Okay, so that bit about an AI/non AI balance just sparked an idea for me, idk why cause its only partly related lol. For the next D&D stream with Chat, what if AI determines how the roll outcomes go? Like, you let it know that its playing a D&D game, give it the scenarios at hand, and then let it know what the characters roll out of 20 and it decides the outcome. So essentially, the AI becomes the dungeonmaster. It could be hilarious!
2:17:10 I’m lying about my age to UA-cam, I put my mom’s birth year instead of my own, it’s very common to do And with meet and greets, most kids can’t go to those because they aren’t financially independent
Arguable drama is Ross obviously looking out from under the blindfold during the winning SMW run, but as that was vs Lud and Squeex, it didn't affect who won the highly coveted tennis match, so it maybe 1% qualifies.
Could be a fun experiment (for 15 min) to stream 140p on one platform but having regular chat, an simultaneously streaming full HD/4K/8K with chat in emote-only 30min per message slow-mode, also with wildly different delays. (possibly switching quality of stream and chat to mess with the algo and analytics, might be risky with YT tho.) PS: Streaming to YT would just more noticeable, I barely check twitch (for some creators) because of time zones. ((now proceed to never see this comment especially because the video is over 1hour(s) old.))
I would LOVE to see Doug on GameGrumps someday. He says he doesn't think he's good at improv comedy, but that's literally most of what he does in his streams with his chat. It would just be with the grumps instead. Make it happen Also, I highly respect Doug's outlook on his income and views on ads and sponsorships
i came into this vod fully expecting doug to finally talk about the drama, and to my demise... he doesn't. Not only am I left dissapointed un-erect and overall just in a terrible mood, I can now no longer support dogdog, you just lost one important subscriber.
I have caught the big streams .eg rosa's birthday 2 day event and shufflemania live on twitch, but otherwise i watch all of the vods on youtube to catch up
“I’m building a cabinet, and I need someone to hold the shelf in place while I screw it in.” “Doug, I travelled three hours to get here, and we played games for five hours! You could have asked!”
My only issue that I doubt was talked about was I don't like the guests trying to get jerma as an AI to answer political questions. He has always been a neutral guy who doesn't want to talk about that publicly.
I don't remember them asking any questions like that? Closest to anything like that, that I recall, was when they asked him what the 4th president of the united states was
So I would watch a stream on UA-cam and I don't need to interact with chat tbh. I just mostly watch videos on my TV and Twitch TV UI is awful so watching live on youtube would be great.
Jerma only being in the box for only 10 minutes while parkzer actually had to wait outside for five hours is hilarious
The idea that Jerma was in a box for over 4 hours straight is hilarious to me
And somehow too Jerma to make it believable.
Yes, but Parker shivering on a tennis court answering crazy questions has my vote.
I fell in love with SHUFFLER, does this mean that I actually fell in love with Jerma? 🤔
@BlackDragon41sbm everyone is in love with jerma. Just not everyone knows it yet.
He probably wasn't in a box for 4 hours - I would assume he climbed into the box during the movie they played right before the reveal.
