I love Hamm's! I just bought a 30 rack for $14.99.
You just can't beat that value. Cheers 🍻!
Light and crisp and no aftertaste like I find in Pabst and High Life. Originally brewed in Minnesota (land of sky blue waters). One of my favorite “economical” brews along with Yuengling Premium.
For the price this is a gem 💎
Absolutely. Cheers 🍻!
A very good beer smoth
From what I've seen, the label they're using now is one from around 1965.
Back in the late '70's, Hamm's came in keg-shaped cans, which was cool. Later, as a cost-saving measure, they changed to cans painted to look like they were keg-shaped. Then they went out of business for a while. Ads were great, with cartoon bears. Used to have a Hamm's neon bar sign, with a moving stream/waterfall effect.
A "lawnmower beer" that goes down great after a morning and early afternoon working on the yard.
When young, back in the Sixties I saw Hamm's being swigged by blue collar gents at the bowling alleys, pool halls and other places of recreation.
I just today did a call around and a bodega that carries high falutin (expensive brand) brews tells me they carry Hamm's in "Suitcases" of 24 cans. Suitcases? Never heard that term before and the young Lady told me, "It's an olde Tyme" expression. Didn't tell her I'm older than dirt and never heard that expression.
Regardless 24 cans of lawnmower beer for "$17.99" sounds great to me so in time as soon as my garage fridge has room. I'll zoom down and pick up a suitcase of Hamm's.
I'm in a college town (don't wanna say which one) but most of the college kids here drink this instead of Natural Light or Keystone. Thank god people have some taste here.
You poured a glass of foam.
Decided to try it this morning. 30 case looked cool, trees and a lake on it. Not a bad brew at all, and the price is the icing on the cake. I started off a diehard budweiser fan but I'm starting to like lighter beers more and more.
From the land of sky blue waters, from the land of pines, lofty balsams, comes the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing.
I found this beer with an old commercial with a jeep in it. A guy driving a jeep with a pet bear in the passenger seat. As a jeep owner why wouldn’t I try it. It is a very good beer for the price!!
I love those old beer commercials! Cheers 🍻 !
Cause of you, now I gotta go and try this one. Love the Bach by the way! Great video. Cheers!
It's not going to knock your socks off, but it is a solid beer. Thanks for watching! Cheers 🍻!
Well I went out and bought some today. I'm pleasantly surprised at how good this is. Had it really really cold, and it's excellent. Thanks for the heads up on this one...
$1.39 per 24 oz can. Love it.
I love Hamm's. An excellent lager at any price, but in 2024 I can still get this for $4.99 for a six pack of pint cans, making it tops in value. You just can't beat it for the price. And I totally agree (as does any decent person) that people who work full-time (making other people rich) should be able to afford a decent standard of living as well. Great review!
I wholeheartedly agree. Cheers 🍻!
Nice video, I love Hamms, great affordable price
Me too! You really can't beat it for the price. Cheers 🍻!
Good olé Hamm’s. I need to review this one. Cheers Josh!
I have been a Keystone light buyer for years, when Keystone sold for about $12 to $14 plus tax a case of 24. NOW Keystone is more like $18 plus tax a 24 case. I switched to Hamms a few months ago. Hamms sells for about $16.50 a 30 pack case now. Hamms has Mucho waay better BEER flavor than Keystone which now tastes like swamp water. I will never go back to Keystone light. Great Review!!!
Thanks! For the money Hamm's is pretty good. In the last 6 months, it's been a little hard to find. I think more people are making the switch. Cheers 🍻!
I don’t mind PBR so if our palettes are similar, then I prob wouldn’t mind this
Drake Hamm’s in Indianapolis IN in 1974. Had a great jingle. Hamm’s seemed to have a slight butter taste. U r right, it was cheap but to me it was nothing like PBR or Natty Bo.
Love Hamm's, can't find it much near me anymore, got it a lot back in 2018-2020. & yep, 100% with you on things getting expensive, gotta go cheap with the brews sometimes! Cheers man
Curious. What is a deposit state? Having grown up in Colorado and moved to Nevada I just have never heard that term. BTW Hamms was the only beer my two uncles, one in Minnesota and one in Wisconsin, would drink. I still find it to be a decent beer choice.
There are a handful of states that charge a small deposit per can or bottle. In Iowa deposit is $.05 per can. There are a couple of states that charge $.10 a can. The thought is that people will return the bottles and cans to get their deposit back, but most people just throw them away. Thanks for watching! Cheers 🍻!
@@JoshEllisTMG I thought it was also to encourage recycling and to keep unnecessary items out of the landfill, and to curb littering. Cheers !!!
@@MotoxKJ38 you're probably right. Cheers 🍻!
@@JoshEllisTMG Yeah that's how it was explained to me the first time I went to Buchanan Michigan for the redbud motocross race, and also found out that town did not sell alcohol at all on Sunday's and some Town ships did not sell alcohol at all.
Hamm's great beer and funny commercials 🍺
Absolutely! @ThisGuysThoughts has posted several vintage Hamm's commercials if you haven't seen his channel yet. Check it out. Cheers 🍻!
Ingredients: Water, Barley Malt, Corn Syrup (Maltose), Yeast, Hops. ABV:4.6%. ""From the Land of the Sky-Blue Water" Just bought two 30 packs for $14.99 each + tax & deposit. I love my Hamm's.. Cheers🍻!
I buy this all the time, great price.
Lol more head then you have seen in awhile. Jk, awesome cheap brew. Lil awkward delivery, keep it up it will get better. Best is a bar down the block has it for a dollar a can which seems well worth it in Arizona. Glad I found your channel I’ll watch some more to see if i can find some new brews
I have never had Hamms. I've looked for it and never come across it. Great review! I'll keep looking for it. Cheers!
I think it may be a regional beer. It's pretty easy to find in Iowa and Nebraska. Hope you can find some. Cheers 🍻!
It's readily available in Chicago. Believe me, sir: for the taste and the price, Hamm's is well worth the search. Good beer.
30-pack for $14.99 damn thats like what we used to pay in college!!
For a 30 pack of GOOD beer lol
Love the Hamm's bear. He looks like Yogi.
I just Subscribed. Thanks for being honest and true about the way the world is now. We are all struggling. And thanks for the review always wanted to try this one for the classic list. 73
My pleasure. Thank you for subscribing, and for watching! Cheers 🍻!
I look for Hamm's tins for my garage but it's not a beer I would buy. Speaking of cost-effective beers... the local Costco has a 12 pack of Real Ale, local brewery, for 13 bucks. They're all excellent, if you like various IPAs.
When I want domestic SWILL, this is my go to.... Hot Day Crusher.
For sure! Cheers 🍻!
@@JoshEllisTMG $1 Hamms draws at a local bar tonight. They went down fast.
Hamm's was always bargain priced. Quite drinkable by far. Th big beer drinking brotherhood of Hamm's.
Classic right there. I have only had this a a handful of times. As prices get crazy, these types of beer are the answer, you are correct. Great review, cheers Josh!!
I've been back and forth between this and PBR for a while now. They are my supplemental beers. Cheers 🍻!
I Love Hamms its 4.7 ABV And very Tasty Beer My Favorite. Good Review.
It's a very good beer. I bounce between this and a couple others. Cheers 🍻!
Finally via special order , snagged some in Western Mass last week , and enjoy it very much over all my go to , Boomer Beers now! Hamms beats PBR Miller Gansett and Genny Cream for great flavor , mellow taste and $$$ ! Hope more Boomer Beer fans here become consumer fans here too, so Hamms becomes a popular beer !!
That would be awesome! Cheers 🍻!
Just picked up a 12-pack for $6.99 here in Milwaukee..... I was pleasantly surprised... A good little beer for the price!!!
Same price here in Omaha, I like Hamms very much, bought some last week.
I just started to see it at Total Wine in New Jersey. I had never heard of it before two months ago. ($23.99)
It's pretty decent for the price. I would drink it over other American lagers. Cheers 🍻!
@@JoshEllisTMG PBR is cheaper $19.49 for a 30 pack.
It's a real good old school brew. I'm drinking some as I type.
There is no cheap (or expensive) American lager, that comes closer to an actual German lager. There is no doubt about it.
It's off putting to most Americans, because most Americans don't like any hint of hops in their lawnmower beer.
I'm almost positive that they're using a pretty good dose of Hallertauer hops.
I think Hamm's is a good "ham sandwich & chips" beer. It bombed, in Louisiana (c. 2017), and we never see it, now.
It's not super popular in Iowa either. I know a couple of people that drink other than me. I'm sure there are some frat boys somewhere drinking it. Cheers 🍻!
This is an American lager and is dam good when icy cold and for the price it's very good classic. 😁
Giving me an inception effect seeing your face thru that beer
I very wanted to try hamms but I don’t unfortunately have it in Canada 🇨🇦
I'm surprised they don't export it since it's brewed in a bordering state. Thanks for watching! Cheers 🍻!
@@JoshEllisTMG I know it’s very weird
The more domestic big box the beer, the colder it should be served
It's good. Better than PBR but not better than Shlitz.
Idk if I can even get Hams. Never heard of or seen them. But then again, I don’t look for them either.
It might be a northlander beer. It's just something we've always had here and I assumed it it was nationwide. Louisiana Beer Reviews said they don't have it down there either. It's a solid dad beer, but not exceptional. Cheers 🍻!
@@JoshEllisTMG it may be around here cause I know other southern based beer reviewers have done videos on it but I def never saw it up north
Hamms and Pabst are good for the money. Not too bad.
I concur. Cheers 🍻!
Try the brazilian Aretzbeer bro!
I'll have to look for it! Cheers 🍻!
Great review. For some reason, i don't find yours annoying - perhaps its because youre not a grown man who looks like he never left college with beer cans strewn about in the foreground and slurring as you try to review. Cheerio, you have a new subscriber.
Thanks! I do try to present myself with a little decorum. I appreciate you watching! Cheers 🍻!
I'm so jealous you can get 30 cans for soooooo cheap! I have yo mortgage my house to get that much beer
I can't believe the beer prices in Canada. The economy must be very different up there. It's nuts! Cheers 🍻!
@@JoshEllisTMG it's nuts and frustrating especially for the craft breweries, cuz they make very little on their beers
Beer inflation 😢
Man, I don't mean to criticize, because you seem like a fair-minded guy, but what is up with that pour? I mean, to each his own, but damn...
@@chestermarcol3831 I've had worse. Cheers 🍻!
@@JoshEllisTMG LOL
Hams , great commercial, not great beer.
Fair enough. Cheers 🍻!
@@JoshEllisTMG cheers.
I just can't do these crap cheap domestics anymore. They're just nasty. Really. That said, I won't pay fine Scotch prices for suds either. Spend a few x-tra bucks. You're worth it. Any of these: Yuengling Lord Chesterfield (aka "Chetty"). This could pass as a craft ale. BA hates it and I don't know why; Warsteiner pilsner (a nice true German all malt macro pilsner at a fair price), Heniken (Haters are morons. No adjuncts, all malt brew - interesting brewing method, simple and refreshing. Skunked you say? Buy it in cans then, fool), Stella Atrois (It has Belgium "ethos", just a tasty brew).
This is really great beer for less than 4 bucks per 6 pack!
