He is my favorite Utaite (people that do vocaloid covers), he is a solo artist, but also part of a group called After the Rain with fellow utaite Soraru. He specializes in this type of songs where he combines tradicional with modern, and also his super high notes.
what i find mind blowing about him is that he can change his voice completely from a very high tone to a low one its like a different person

He’s a soloist but collabs with a lot of his friends (and has some units with them like After the Rain & Soramafuurasaka) in the utaite community & has his own side projects (which we’re supposed to keep quiet about if we find them even tho it’s kinda obvious it’s him lol)
He produces/makes/mixes a lot of his own songs such as this, but also sings some covers. (He has some streams where he goes over his music making process)
The mv you watched should have subs, only his recent ones probably don’t because YT changed some shit and made it harder to approve them. For his live-streams and such people like Emma (@differentoceans) & Bria (@idkbria) write subs on their Twitters.

I don’t know if all of the female vocals are actually considered part of the NND community but they’re all fantastic and deserve appreciation (and do does Omoinotake but that’s a whole ‘nother thing).
But yah you need to do a deep dive for sure!!! (I totally didn’t just switch two playlists to public that have a bunch of utaite and related songs (with other non related genres too) that I listened a lot to in the past two years or anything, nope didn’t do anything like that, nope nothing suspicious of the sort happened like that, totally not implying anything with this nothing at all...) …Ahem but yah hopefully that’s enough info and recs (wait I didn’t even get into vocaloid producers, oops) for now from totally not a major fangirl chillin in bed with her SMUS blanket and a bunch of merch covering every counter surface in her room.

Mafu is super underrated (imo) so seeing this is super cool!
If you like this song of Mafu, you really have to listen to the one named "Yume Hanabi", it's a song composed totally by Mafu. I also recommend his cover "Hated by life itself", idk, there's so much songs which are pretty good to start from. I recommend too the cover of the song named ROKI, Mafu also sings that one along with other Utaite, Soraru.

Typically guitars are hard panned (panned 100%) left and right, but generally, especially in this genre, the guitars are doing the same thing for the sake of making the song feel wider, then the leads are in the center or 50% panned. You really have to put a lot of thought into the arrangement to make it work with 2 different guitar parts and not have the mix fall apart, which this song does great! The Gazette are masters at this too, especially in their older stuff!

Mafumafu is in a band with Soraru, and they’re called After the Rain. You might like their song “Swaying from Season to Season” if you loved the traditional and modern combinations!
