Your listing of trends makes me look forward to your future thrifting. And to see the changes in your home with the darker colours, it is always interesting to see the changes.
I can’t wait to thrift these trends and share with you all! It’s fun to see what inspiration trends give us and how we can make them work in our spaces! ❤️❤️ I appreciate you watching, have an amazing week!
Loved this video! You did a great job inspiring viewers, in clear & creative ways, to thrift pieces in line with decorating trends. Listening to you is like spending time with a friend … you are so enjoyable to watch!
That is so kind of you to say! Thank you for your feedback, I welcome any and all - truly! I am so happy it feels like you are hanging out with a friend, that is just what I want this beautiful little corner on the internet to be! Thank you for watching and being such a kind friend! 😊 I hope you have a wonderful week!
Hello my friend! Another way to age A piece, on any type surface from ceramic, has, cement, wood, anything.. use antiquing wax! I love using it on ashy piece i buy & need to age it. With most of my decor being older pieces, new or shiny stands out!😄 I totally agree on the lamp lighting! I love having them all around my home, small ones tucked in tiny spaces. It really all i use in the living & bedroom spaces 95% of the time. It helps that i collect old lamps!😉 I love the wallpaper on the ceiling! I love painted ceilings too! We're renting, but he dds say we could paint anytime we wanted. They just freshly repainted the entire house & its beautiful so I'm leaving it! I do love mixing patterns tho! Its actually really pretty if its tastefully done. Those pillows are very pretty together!💙 Elizabeth i love that throw! I want to find a few mande with this material too. Bank in the late 80's to mid 90's this was the only type throws there were & they were very popular! The really good ones were double sided too. I had quite a few & kick myself for not saving the better ones.😑 Just moving Into this house & they just redid all the floors which are wood & are gorgeous.. I've def got to have a living room, 2bdrm & a playroom rug.. the playroom I'm not stressing right away. Hopefully I can thrift them!🤞🏼 Yesss..i love my gallery walls! I mix & match colors & styles of frames. But I also add things like mirrors, candle sconces, little shelves, empty frames, empty frames with another framed piece inside it, or other things like plates, wall vases, architectural pieces or anything really that will hang & look great mixed in! As long as it all looks good together, then it'll be a beautiful wall! I had 2 different ones in my last home & it was a very small home. I can't wait to create a few in my new home we'll be moving into in a few wks! Very excited to have all my things here from storage up in TN & ad my new pieces I've gotten & get back to decorating!😁 Those are all beautiful pieces! I love the color drenching! Oh now anything of & made from wood i just love! From tiny pieces to huge pieces, i just love wood! I love wood grain! My favorite of course Is natural wood or just waxed or polished wood. But I love it painted, stained, or any way at all! I'm not crazy about dark stained furniture like cherry, or black painted pieces, only because it shows dust so bad!😄Really light colors aren't my fav either. Oh I agree, I think a med stain or wood tone is really beautiful! And I feel the same, i think wood warms up a space & gives a more cozy vibe! I'm going to need an island for my kitchen, there's hardly no prep space. I'm going to look for A wood rectangle table that has a few drawers maybe. Cabinets are okay Too of course!😊 I love seeing newer pieces, in stores or other homes, there's many gorgeous new things that i see incorporated in others decor & i love it. But as for my personal decor in my home, you'll rarely see a newer piece, and If it is, it probably been waxed & you won't realize its newer! But we all need to do what makes us happy & enjoy others decor at the same time! I see lots of beautiful homes, and i love them. That doesn't mean I'll run out & find the pieces they have. So many want the exact same pieces, i can't do it! lol😄 Maybe we'll have a rolling pin or plate or crock or even a picture that's the same. That's another beauty of thrifting.. curating a beautiful home on one of a kind pieces, or that are alike but different.. if that makes sense!😄 I sky did enjoy the video & sharing thoughts on trends or things we love, have or want! Pray you have A blessed week!🙏🏻😊
Yay! What a nice Sunday suprise❤ I agree on the mid-toned wood, so happy to see the lighter woods moving out. Can't wait to see all your ideas this year ❤
@@carriekowal5123 thank you Carrie, so sweet of you to say! I am soooo excited to have lots of fun creativity and share the journey! Thank you for watching, I hope you have a beautiful week!
Yayyy.....so wonderful to see you this evening!! 🤗 Love your ideas and I totally understand what you mean when you speak of trends. They can give us ideas or inspiration if we are looking for a change but in the end we need to love our home and do styles that won't necessarily come and go so quickly. I like the idea of adding pattern through cushions or wallpaper. I too have been collecting frames and mirrors to do a gallery wall. I can't wait to take inspiration from what you do. I love the idea of a "moody" feeling and I was thinking of doing that for the gallery wall by using a deep green. I think my frames and mirrors will stand out more. I just love your content with all your amazing thrifting ideas. This year I am striving to get the look for less. You are the perfect person to help me with that. Thank you so much dear Elizabeth!! Have a pleasant evening! 💖🤗💖
Thank you so much for your sweet words, I am so happy that you're finding inspiration from my content! 😊💖 I love the idea of adding moody green to deepen your gallery wall!! I can’t wait to step outside my comfort zone this year and not overthink and just enjoy being creative more and more!! I really don’t like spending a lot of money on “stuff” and have found that you really don’t have to spend a lot of money to create beautiful spaces and sharing that here is just sooo fun! And meeting all of you is the best part! I appreciate you and hope you have a wonderful week dear friend!
Hi Liz, I loved this video. I’m so excited for these trends. I just finished this message and it’s really long, I apologize in advance. I’m really looking to purchase a home this year! I want to paint my walls, install built ins if they aren’t there already. I’d love a Victorian but that’s a style that we only have a few of in our historic district. I’m so into black or a deeper green walls. I’m also loving plum (not a shade of purple) as an accent color. I usually have to settle for a burgundy because I never can find plum until the end of 2024. I’m so excited! Also I love pattern but until this past year never understood how to mix them. I’ve always loved floral prints especially! I love window pane, stripes, gingham, plaids and who knows what else… lol. I love love neutrals the past many years and they’re so much easier to mix. I’ve always loved pops of light pink, plum, burgundy and greens (especially olive). However I never thought brown or any green would ever be one of my favorite colors. I love that pillow in your chair too. Unlike most people I’m not a fan of blues, if I had to choose I can handle a tiny bit of Navy. Ok so I’m so jealous of your thrift stores, even my FBMP most things are 2 hrs from me for anything I like. From a vintage Secretary or sideboard to vintage frames and crocks. Every vintage piece I own came from Etsy, Olive Atelier, or an overpriced antique store. I just went thrifting today, I don’t really have mom and pop stores, they’re only Goodwills. The only thing I purchased (which I’ve been looking for) was a faux loaf of bread and 4 crescents… lol. I’ve never found a brass candle holder. I haven’t even found used taper candles, a few yucky looking pillar pops up on occasion. I really mean ours are so bad. The closest group of good thrift stores are literally 2 hrs away. I’m also very excited to diy a couple frames and the mats this with some patterned material. Like maybe a striped and a floral. Possibly in a neutral tone and make a gallery wall with vintage brass frames and skinny black ones and a lil thicker mid tone wood color. Oh I did buy 1 other thing today. Well 2 gold colored vintage inspired 11x14 frames with 8x10 matting. I think I’m going to wrap the mattes in linen material and for sure rub n buff the frames. With my 2025 goals in mind I felt kind of guilty until I got to the thrift stores and there similar sized crappy frames priced from $10-$15 and I paid $12 for each on a gift card at HG. Oh yeah I want to wallpaper lots of things too. A ceiling if I could manage it. Have a great week!
Thank you for sharing your vision! I am so excited for you, it sounds like you’re going to have the most amazing space that is bursting with creativity - I love it!! I too feel guilty when I buy things full price or at bigger stores but it’s ok! They also have great things too and you can find deals (use GC’s!). Never apologize for chatting, I LOVE hearing ideas and building friendships here. It’s so fun to have a group of people that love what we love and have similar interests to share ideas with!!! Wishing you a beautiful 2025, I truly hope all your dreams come true ❤️❤️
Thanks Liz! My home is so neutral right now and I am really hoping to add some deeper toned textiles. Our home is kind of glam transitional. So think clean lined furniture with chandeliers, mixed metal and glass accents. I've heard some designers talk about a "jewel box" trend especially with paint colors so that's what I'm going to try to incorporate first.
