அப்போது +1 படிக்கிறேன். திண்டிவனம் கன்னையா தியேட்டரில் படம் ஓடியது. எத்தனை தடவை இந்த படத்தை பார்த்தேன் என்ற கணக்கில்லை. அப்போது எது பிடித்தது என தெரியவில்லை. பாடலா? ஜெயஸ்ரீயா? மோகனின் நடிப்பா ? ஆனால் எப்போது கேட்டாலும் எனக்கு வயது 16 ஆகிவிடும். இளையராஜாவை அப்போது தெரியாது. இப்போது நினைத்தால் கடவுள் சென்னையில் அவர் வடிவில் வாழ்வதாக உணர்கிறேன்.

True and very rightly said. If you have friends in the late 70s and 80s who were brought up in Maharashtra,Orissa,Andhra and Bengal, just ask them about Ilayaraja. He was so famous even just for his work in Tamil and obviously for some of his local work..
IR has huge respect for Director Sridhar and we can see in IR + Sridhar combo movies. Even some movies are utter failure in box office, the songs alone stood apart in those movies.
Director Sridhar's and Raja sir combination are 1) Ilamai Oonjaladigirathu 2) Azage unnai aaradikiren &3) Thendrale ennai thodu, if you take these 3 movies put together ,17 songs in total= all super dooper hits..... that's for one director alone, S.P.Muthuraman, Bharathi raja,Bagyaraaj,Manivannan,Mahendren,Fazil, etc the list goes on and on.... Ilayaraja set his standards so high and exceeded all expectations including us the listeners..
