I have a 7.62 scout with short ASE SL5 suppressor used for last 10 yrs. I like the SL5 because it keeps the unit compact. All your points bang on re review. The designer got it right there is nothing I would change. NZ
I'd change allot. The SBS system on those rifles suck. Long, bulky. Safety was designed by someone that never shot a rifle. Stock is overly bulky. I sold mine and bought a CZ 527 7.62x39. half the price and I find it more useful
I shot couple magazines of ammo through this rifle in 308 a few years ago and honestly, I think if I were to buy one, 223 makes more sense to me because it will reduce the cost of shoulder surgeries after range days
A 12 power scope on this rifle???? It should sport a 4 power scope maximum or a long eye relief 2.5 or 2.75 power scopes. That is what Col. Cooper designed it to carry. I have this rifle in 308win and I've never missed a deer because I could not see it through my Zeiss 4x32 scope. Shooters miss mainly not through poor sight picture but by not holding steady or bad trigger control. I do use my Burris long eye relief 2.75x20 scope on my rifle with the same mounts as you use. It was designed to be a light weight rifle weighing under 3 kg with scope and shooting sling in place and no moderator, Cooper called them useless junk on the front of the rifle. And to finish, one of the better reveiws of this rifle, so well done.
Lmao welcome to the future old man. Silencers make guns more accurate. Also reduce recoil and flash. There’s literally no downside to cans except gas and put more wear on ur gun. But it’s bolt gun so no gas. I have one in 308 and i shoot it suppressed. I use a steiner scope on it 1-8
@@heinrichfuhrmeister1244 Silencers may reduce muzzle flip but the problem with them is they put weight where you don't want it, at the front end, it ruins the balance. Of course if you shoot off a quad pod or other type of rest, weight and balence are not a problem. I agree big scopes and adding weight to your rifle does seem to be where the world is going, apeing the long range shooters. But for deer stalkers shooting at 50 to 200 yards hardly necessary. Still each to their own, if you are happy with your set up, great. I'm happy with my Steyr Scout with the Zeiss scope on board.
