I’m always fond of videos like this when UA-cam is kind enough to suggest them to me while scrolling. This rendition of Camp Adventure is fantastic and I love your original contributions to the piece (such as the plinking sounds) and the build up is beautifully contrasted by the sudden drop in instruments to let the voice cut through before returning with additional percussion. The only suggestion I have is to raise the audio on your voice to let it shine. You have an amazing timbre but you seem just slightly hesitant in letting it out which is a shame. Speaking on my own personal experience, I used to be very reserved to go all in on singing from the fear of looking weird or foolish and so I sung a lot from my face to preserve the way I appeared. As a more recent development, I cheat a bit to kill the nerves by closing my eyes so I feel more comfortable contorting my face and letting the words ring out from my chest. Because honestly, who cares what you look like if you’re giving a killer performance. But I could be misinterpreting and perhaps it was a deliberate choice (in which case, feel free to continue as you please). Overall: amazing execution, performance, and sense of humor (particularly with that drum bit). This is the type of content you should be proud to share with those around you. Keep on creating. Best, ~Mattal
Hey thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment. Means a lot. I definitely do lack confidence with singing, so no that wasn’t deliberate. Thanks for the support :)
