“Exclusion is not a preference”, preference does not mean u won’t give anybody who doesn’t match your preference a chance. It means ud usually go for a specific type, which means there are exceptions. If u prefer your partner to be white, does that mean u wouldn’t give someone black a chance? That’s just as weird and would make me just as uncomfortable. Well, Hollywood, media and basically everything we grew up around set the beauty standard as super white, blue eyes and blond hair. Going against those standards and actually experiencing the world realistically is something that should definitely be praised. I think what they were trying to explain is a preference is something you prefer however it doesn’t really imply exclusion. For example I prefer chocolate ice cream however that doesn’t mean that I will not eat anything else. Saying that you prefer skinny or slim thick women is not excluding bigger or fat women, it’s saying I usually tend to gravitate towards skinnier women but that’s not all I date.
Personally for me your reasoning is what would make it fatphobic, saying that I don’t date fat women bc blah blah blah. You don’t know every fat women how can you attribute attributes you don’t know if they have. If someone had reasoning like that then I would say it’s fatphobic.
