Wow. Did MSNBC allow Joe Scarborough to say all of that? Is it now ok to criticize Israel on MSNBC without getting fired?
Why MSNBC need to afraid and fear of Israel? US is not vassal of Israel. why any American need to obey Israel?
Because Mr. Netanyahu has gone far beyond defending the Israeli people. Why do the people of nations allow their leaders to define the words "national security"? We had fifteen years of war in SE Asia to protect our "national security," when there was zero threat to the USA's national security from North Vietnam. The threat was to the reelection of presidents and legislators seen to be soft on communism. We started a war of choice in Iraq in the name of "national security" when there was no threat to anyone from Saddam Hussein except the ayatollahs and his own people. The threat to America was to Bush's reelection chances with a sluggish economy without becoming a "wartime president." The people of Russia, at least a sufficient number, believe that the war in Ukraine is defending their "national security," when all it is doing to allowing Putin to continue to imagine himself as the reincarnation of Peter the Great. Mr. Netanyahu is defending his own legal position now, just like our own Donald Trump, by donning the Bush "wartime leader" mantle for as long as he can. Pres. Biden made a mistake in relying on Mr. Netanyahu to produce a measured and equal response to the Hamas murders in Israel, and not to seek unlimited "retribution". He must now realize that that was a mistake, an honest mistake, thinking perhaps that the people of Israel would not be goaded into an endless brutal war.
We all make the mistake of equating, to one extent or another, a national leader with the nation, instead of regarding him or her as the servant of the nation, which is its people, not its leader. The people can go on for centuries or millennia, but the leader will die. Absolutely guaranteed. Yet the nation will go on if the people stick to the fundamental principles they set down for themselves. If they let their leaders drag them away from those principles, no guarantees about the future of the nation.
I thought the same thing, I am SHOCKED 😮that MSNBC allowed this to be aired. Appreciate the truth tho.

Israel was CREATED by the British using the Balfour Declaration. It declares both people to be equal, have equal rights.
Then in 1947 the UN declared an Israeli State within Palestine.

And what has Hamas ever really done for Palestinians? Cooperated with international aid to improve life in Gaza? Biden hasn't actually changed his stance… He is only doing this because of so much pressure from the US public and upcoming elections. If he wins, after elections he will adopt the same policy as always. Don't forget that in 1986 he said that if there was not an Israel, we would have had to create an Israel to protect our interests in the region. It benefits the US for there to be turmoil in the Middle East… That is why every single president has kept with the same policy on the question of Palestine.

Guilt makes one make really terrible decisions. It's up to Israel to guarantee it's own existence by coming to terms with its neighbors. The U.S. (and Western European) guarantee has basically enabled Israel's sense of entitlement to land that is not theirs.
It is shocking that the Israeli public has willfully supported, for so long, Likud's Netanyahu despite that he is so obviously a morally bankrupt and corrupted man.
Netanyahu, over the past many years, has achieved very little as PM of Israel - save for enriching himself and thwarting peace.
The simple fact is, Netanyahu has supported the funding of extremist enemies of Israel (such as Hamas) because they, like him, oppose a two-state solution.
Sadly, perpetual conflict is the raison d'être for those opposed to peace.
In any event, I hope the right-minded people of Israel will work hard this next while to usher in a more honest and visionary leadership. And the sooner this happens, the better.

what we NEED is the Geneva Convention and the Hague Convention to do it's job!!
It is the US that is preventing the UNSC, ICJ, ICC, etc from having Israel held accountable under these conventions and International law.
Only last week the US passed a budget denying funding to UNWRA for the rest of 2024, based on unproven claims by Israel, provided more arms & munitions to Israel, including 2000 lbs bombs and fighter jets. They also introduced legislation saying that if the Palestinians support any actions to hold Israel to account for it recent actions or if the Palestinians try to bring a case against Israel itself, then there will be no more funding for the Palestinians from the US.
This is international blackmail and is only required imho because the US know full well that Israel have cases to answer for and that it would be highly likely that the US itself along with others would be found to be complicit in the crimes committed by Israel.
And who and what do you think is stopping this from happening?

Listening to Joe describe the situation for Palestinians makes me understand that they are resisting. Are they really terrorist or resistance fighters? Israel never tells what they’ve done to these people for decades.
The Palestinians do choose horrible ways to try and be Freedom Fighters. But Countries like Iran push them to be as atrocious as possible, because that stops people seeing how bad Iran's Leaders are. The Palestinians have legitimate claims for freedom. And many Middle Eastern Countries other than Iran want to see this festering wound solved, so the world can move on. I'm an atheist, but it this case, Blessed be the Peacemakers. We need to promote the people in both Palestine and Israel that want to find a lasting Peace. At the moment too many outside people find it easier to give both sides weapons to 'Defend' themselves, and ignore the root of the problem.

It’s taken a series of obscene actions by the protagonists in this disaster to finally remove some of the cloth from the vision of those who think saying Israel has a right to exist is somehow the end of the thought that’s required to deliver peace in the region. Whatever the Israeli government accuses its opposition of, it has committed historically and currently to a far worse extent. And the expectation that Palestinians should just meekly accept their erasure is just insane and inane. The same people who lionise the Israeli right supported apartheid in South Africa and tacitly support it elsewhere when the victims are Arabic or Muslim (ignoring the plight of Palestinian Christians - the original Christian community for gawd’s sake).

Joe - There has been talk about the Hamas charter for years and the text "From the river to the sea", but the exact same text has been in the Likud charter for almost as long. It is not only lately that Netanyahu has been saying such things. You can find videos, if you are interested, from years back of Netanyahu advising of his commitment against a Palestinian state, how all of the land is for the Jewish people and how he can easily control the US.
For me it is because that the US have allowed Israel for years continually steal Palestinian lands in the West Bank for ever more settlements, all the while talking about a two state solution, allowed the apartheid system to continue and flourish, allowed the occupation and the siege on Gaza, the raids on Palestinian homes and the incarceration of 1000s with out charge, many of them women and children, etc. which is partly to blame for the events of Oct 7th.
Though you may not like to hear it, an occupied people have the right to resist their occupiers by any means, including armed struggle. The US allowed the situation for the Palestinians get so bad that hope of a better future could not be seen and then act surprised when the occupied rise up.
Strictly speaking more than that, in the sense that the US was by far the most important driver of the 47 partition plan that gave almost 60% of the land to a third of the population, and has consistently supported Israel in diplomatic, military and economic terms ever since, with only very brief, ephemeral periods of making an actual effort towards a peace process.
The west has effectively created the present situation, though it is not directly responsible for Israel's actions historically or presently, it has created the conditions, the permission structure as some would say, that have allowed it to be maintained.
Ignoring the violations of international law for decades, including collective punishment, massacres, extra judicial killings, illegal detention, as you say. The west has absolutely created this situation, and has only just realised how bad it is because they have been left no choice whatsoever.
It's like how the occidental nations permitted and engaged in antisemitism right up to the point where the holocaust happened, at which point they were shocked into realising it had consequences. I've never heard an explanation for the extremely slow response time.

Recent report shows that Netanyahu not only supported Hamas but even approved the agreements Hamas had with Katur. Netanyahu was even aware of the Oct 7 attacks for a whole year.
