That would actually be a really good plot! The teachers build up the profile until it's famous and then monet hacks it and takes over the social hierarchy because jc doesn't care about her media presence anymore

The problem with the new GG is that the drama is so manufactured and convoluted. In the original, you get why Blair and Serena have a falling out. The new one is so ridiculous and barely makes sense. Plus, all of the characters are deeply unlikable, from the creepy teachers (seriously wtf) to the comically bitchy mean girls who exist just to be mean. I watched the pilot but have no desire to keep on watching. The original GG is flawed but it was still fun and soapy.
One thing that is ruining the new one for me is I can’t take Julien seriously she’s the “famous influential” main character but she’s not charismatic at all and the actress is really bad too

It's actually funny if u finished watching GOSSIP GIRL (2007-2012) you would have realised you're prediction came true about link with his characters in both series and also gossip girl finale has a flashback scene with him which resembles 100% with an You episode as you get his inner monologue in that scene with You show vibes. Also, at 4:15 Rebecca's prediction was true but that happens in OG gossip girl itself you don’t have to wait for reboot

I liked the reboot way better the cast was amazing ine the new one and the storyline was pacing fast as it should be while the original got super boring in the 2nd season. plus like in reboot they were actually acting as humans and not everyone was fucking every other person in the room.
