You should do a video similar to how you do your modern buy videos where you show what cards you personally invested in, or are looking to pick up, but with vintage instead. I’m curious to see what u think is a good investment in this falling vintage market at the moment.
Great idea
The price slash from a psa 10 shadowless zard to anything below is absurd. In no way shape or form should a psa 8 be that low compared to the psa 10. Vintage market is super confusing.
I mean a 10 is always going to have a premium to it and that gap always increases with how old the card is. Same across cards basically.
@@dcsoda1 yes ofcourse there’s going to be a big gap, especially with vintage. Not anything out of the ordinary but a $190k gap down 2 grades? That’s absurd especially considering how PSA despises giving 10 to vintage and an 8 to the naked eye is pretty much a “10”. There’s no logic to this other than wealthy collectors artificially inflating the prices and creating some shadowless pseudo-elitist club. Or money laundering lol
@@alecsanchez9755 lol what? There’s no logic to people wanting the best of a certain card? Cmon dude. Just buy the 8 if that’s what you want but it’s not a conspiracy that people would put a premium on the highest grade.

@dcsoda1 to be honest there isnt that big of gap between 8 to a 10 for almost any other card.

We love first Brother. You are the best. Love Minnesota. Lived in Minneapolis 1981-82 and worked on building the City Center complex. Coldest winter ever. Wind Chill was 68 below zero. Won't forget the great people and times we had there. Congrats on a new first!

Was able to get 2 base set packs and 1 1st Ed gym challenge from Walgreens mystery boxes back a few years ago when they first released them. One of my luckiest finds ever. Only paid $20 for each mystery box too

Thanks for this series! Had my vintage cards that I pulled as a kid out last night in preparation for this video. None of them would grade well but feel super privileged to have them. Just wish I could go back in time and steal my older brothers 1st edition holo base set Zard before he got rid of it 😭 didn’t know how good we had it at the time

This will be a perfect series for me. I can't really catch them all cause I ain't got the money. But I have been trying to learn about everything I missed when I was younger. I recently got a PRERELEASE Misty's Seadra and I got the reverse holo Black Star Entei promo at Card Party! Love the first part where you give a little history about the sets. This format is perfect. Don't change if you don't want to. But me, personally, I would love a focus on a particular set and maybe go deeper into the history/backstory of the set or special cards? This video had SO much info. I don't think I'll retain it all lol. Great content as always

I have a really nice modern collection but my childhood cards got stolen. That was why I quit collecting back in the day. I never planned to collect again until my bf got me some etbs for my birthday lol

What is your favourite Reverse Holo pattern that pokemon has come up with? I think they haven't had a good one since Sun & Moon, they were just so striking and dynamic.

Great content here, like the vintage mix into the weeks videos. Have you seen anything on the 90s Glossy Promos japanese cards? Like the legendary birds and original 151 artworks. I know the Zapdos is at night artwork which I remember you pointing out. You wished you had seen that on the new 151.

I have been thinking about starting a vintage collection and just starting with base set unlimited commons and uncommons then sprinkling some holo rares in then moving to fossil and jungle and doing the same. I feel like ill get a lot of satisfaction out of filling a binder with all those cards again.

Can you elaborate on the gold star scandal? I’ve always wondered why suicide is so cheap despite imo being a top 2-3 gold star art. I’ve never heard of a scandal with them. Also that gold star Charizard has sold for as high as 30k+ on eBay and irl the last year, that card is unbelievable. Same with rayquaza’s last sale being $48,500
Some guy had almost a 1000 of each of them. Basically the same thing as the fusion strike thing. Except this guy just sells them consistently every year.
