Came for Knorp, stayed for Flood, crazy start for his MLW career.
Took a lot of Flood, sweat, and tears but the D-backs got a huge series win over a very solid Preds team.

Jimmy Knorps play in the 3rd game is one of the best I’ve ever seen period. Amazing.
Kratch’s cool confident personality and dominance on the mound reminds me of some legendary sport antagonist. He’s like the Roger Clemens, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Tom Brady of wiffle ball. You hated those guys cause they were so good!

This game makes me remember the first time I saw Jimmy Knorp play. Opening day, 2021. Dude hit for the cycle. Jimmy came to play in 2023!
And man, shout out to Trey. Dude went off on the mound and didn't even talk about himself when interviewed.
Wow, what a series. Knorp showed us why he’s still one of the best, but Trey Flood might arguably be the MVP of this series! 6.0 IP with only 1 ER, 1 H, and a no-hitter in Game 3 is insane ⚡️ this league just keeps on getting better and better

Jimmy's defense at shortstop is so valuable, it's good they found an ace in Flood.
Preds should try working a trade for Bonham. Magic seemingly don’t need him anymore with their rookies and Preds desperately needs a competent hitter to fill the 4 hole and pitch when Kracht isn’t. Seems like a win win trade for both teams.
They definitely need another pitcher. Usually their hitting is good. Flood is new and really good along with Jimmys defense makes it hard to get a hit.

Lets be honest, Jimmy Knorp is the complete package. (Hitting, Pitching, Fielding, heck even today showed base running ability)

Jimmy Knorp is a LEGEND! Honestly watching this league over the years i genuinely look forward to every upload like i do all my sports teams etc its a staple. I wish i could play in MLW, but im 31 🤣

My updated power rankings after week 1
1. Midwest Mallards
The Mallards imo are the best team from top to bottom. Jordan Robles is a proven winner and is only behind Knorp in best pitcher/hitter combo. Coughlin surprisingly seems to be getting better with age at the plate. Looks comfortable and poised to put another great year at the dish. Caden Irwin looked impressive on the mound and definitely put some time in the off-season improving his craft. I only see him getting stronger as the year goes on.
2. Downtown Snakes
Jimmy Knorp is hands down the best player in this league and will look to carry his team to another title. The question once again will be is he going to get enough support from his supporting cast. Schema looks putrid at the plate. His at bats don't even look competitive. Heath will have to play a big role again this year, as he will only have to worry about producing from the plate with 2nd year player Trey Flood looking like he earned Knorps trust with 2 impressive wins in the opener. I have the snakes at 2 simply because outside of Knorp there is no consistency. Like stated earlier Schema could be a liability & Heath seems to goes on long cold stretches. Knorp will have to make the tough decision if he gives more at bats to Bennet over Schema who hit a would be game winning HR in the opener.
3. Western Wildcats
A surprise here at 3 for many. But the way the opening weekend went, Cats fans have a lot to be excited about. Obviously Schultz is the #1 option on the mound. But the emergence of Jaxon Pearson on the hill could be a game changer for the Cats. He looked solid on the hill for the Cats. That gives them 3 reliable arms they can go to with along Saylor who was the #2 last year. I only see Pearson improving from this dish this year as the kid is just a young stud. The Schultz/Saylor combo is one of the best 1-2 punches. Schultz does a great job of getting on base in general, whether through a walk or just putting the ball in play. Saylor is always dangerous and we've seen what's he's capable of if he's dialed in.
4. Coastal Cobras
I have the Cobes getting the nod at 4 over the Eagles here. It's the pitching here that makes this team capable of beating anyone. Baronowski was one of, if not the best pitchers in the league last year & Behen has one the most disgusting pitches in the league in his drop ball. If both of them can dial it in this year it won't be a surprise to see them back in the title game. The problem lies in getting production outside of Drew Davis on offense. We'll see if the addition of brother Chris Baronowski can give them a jolt.
5. Eastern Eagles
I hate to say it but Daniel Schultz just isn't as dominant on the hill as he once was. Seems like teams have figured him out a bit over the last year or so. Dallas Allen holds the key to the Eagles success. One of the best arms in the league and does a good job of putting the ball in play often. The question lies if the Eagles can create enough offense to keep up with the better ones in the league in the Mallards & Cats.
6. Pacific Preds
Maybe a shock to some to see the Preds at 6. The reason for this lies in that they failed to go out and get another reliable arm outside of ace Ryan Kracht. I don't think Stephen Mcglade has the arsenal to get big outs in this league unfortunately. The offense has the potential to be dangerous with Kracht, Warda, & Russell all capable of doing damage. Unfortunately in the league you need 2 reliable arms to go anywhere.
7. Metro Magic
I was throughly impressed when the Magic bounced back to steal the final 2 after dropping Game 1 to the Gators. Grant Miller struggled from the mound but showed us why he was the #1 pick showing us a lot of promise with his bat. I expect to see him rebound from the hill if they give him another start. But how about RJ Walgate?!?! The kid looked filthy on the hill. His long arms and tall stature look intimidating on the hill. Don't forget they have Trevor Bonham who was once talked about with the best arms in the MLW. If this team could put it together offensively look out! We'll see if Jack Aigner can push the right buttons to keep this fun team going in the right direction.
8. Great Lake Gators
After a strong first game of the year getting 2HRs a piece form Cheatham & Jorgensen the Gators went back to old form as they dropped the next two. The talent is there as we all saw them take the title only a few years ago with all 3 players still on the roster. Simply put, Cheatham needs help. Jorgensen struggled all 2022 and matched his HR total from last year in just the first game. But he'll need to it more consistent for this team to resurrect from the dead. I think that key is held by Jason Chadwick who has the talent to be a game changer when right. But he looked overmatched in the first series of 23. Hopefully he'll bounce back in next weeks slate.

Oh and your assessment of Schema?! Idk if you just started watching this season or that your judgement is that bad, Schema while not always lighting it up at plate is one of if not best Defensive outfielder in League and literally has some of D-Backs most clutch hits in playoffs helping them win two titles

@@aldoparziale5669 No where did it say anything about his defense. So let me ask you that same question. Have you just started watching? He was last in the league hitting .111 (over 50 plate appearances) last year. Went 2-10 Week 1 with 2 singles,5 Ks.
@@mattod2077 yeah and only had walk off hit to win first World series and the only rbi to beat Mallards on way to winning second just to name two pretty significant clutch moments and again why wouldn't his defense be a factor for having him in/on the roster?!
