My friend thank you for sharing your experience on this work. I have a recommendation for you as a mechanic, you need to start wearing gloves 🧤 to protect your skin from cancer. The oils and lubricants you have been handling over the years has been sitting under your skin, which will eventually become cancerous. A lot of old mechanics don't enjoy a long and healthy retirement because of the prolonged exposure to petroleum oils and lubricants that penetrate their skin.
You are the best bro. I did similar thing to my LR3 engine while overhauling but kept having cylinder 2 and 4 misfires even after changing the coil, injectors and spark plugs aside from this, the engine run smoothly without oil-burning and bearing noise again.
Hi dear l have the same problem in my Range Rover sport engine 4.2 some cylinder misfiring l change coil spark and and injectors and have the same problem l thing l think the timing engine is get out so what you do in yours?

Brother thank you for the video. I just rebuilt my 4.2 L supercharged . I set the timing like you showed and followed the shop manuel. After removjng the key and locking bars i spun the motor by hand. After a few rotations i tried to line evrything up with locks again and its slightly off . I did it twice with the same results . I dont know if iys normal or not any advice ?

Nice one from you, if cylinder 2 and 4 keep misfiring check the valves and the compression of of the cylinder 2 and 4 and compare w other cylinder
@@miamiautomobile5566 I found a small pitch on the intake valves of 2 and 4 and replaced. Engine is smooth out now. Thank you

it will work but if you didn't get it right it will show the check light but the car will drive normal

Just make sure the crankshaft key is on 6 o'clock and on the four camshaft cut is flat using a flat bar to align the camshaft and you are good to go
