Note on SSDs. 1) not as great for longer term storage than spinning drives. 2) AVOID Western Digital! I had TWO SSDs fail within 3 months of purchase and they didn't offer any recovery or refund. Just replacing the drive. That is NOT reliable as a product or company.
A great idea on the backup drives is using a tower style PC and add extra SSDs or HDDs to it and it's easy after importing to make multiple copies of photos. I know there are RAID systems etc, but this is a simple and cheap way to do it. Tip #2, don't keep everything on a laptop, they are basically disposable, and if you edit around coffee (who doesn't), then they are at risk of getting damaged. I know this from experience losing all of my portfolfio I had as a new photographer before using online galleries for storage when my new baby knocked my coffee off the end table right into all the USB ports of my computer.
Hi Katelyn. Your videos are so helpful and inspiring. I'm about to retire and want to follow my passion and become a professional phototographer. Any suggestions for a late bloomer heading into Refirement?
This is perfect timing. I would like to buy the contracts , but I just paid for a year for my website. Maybe later. I got my tax ID, DBA, and square, so I am trying to do this right. Now to publish my website.
These are great but I think you missed one of the most important components of going pro is to know your CODB and how to figure that out. How you shouldn’t be just choosing pricing based on what someone else is charging.

Thanks you. This is very useful for a beginner in photography as me.

People please don’t get these drives, I’ve heard so much negative. Get a T7 or 2. Great video, just a tip.

Great info, thank you. I was just about to look at buying options for external hard drives.
Great information
Very nice! Thank you for the awesome information. Trying to go from hobbyist to professional and looking for a delivery system and website.
Definitely check out Cloudspot and Tonic! You won't regret it!
Oh this is a great video! thank you! I am just wondering if Cloudspot is also a clever choice when being based in the UK ...?
Thank you for the encouragement
Thanks for watching!
Question - can you communicate with clients through Cloudspot? Or do you do that via email?
I was curious about the same thing.
You forgot something, insurance. Liability and for your gear.
Are Tonic sites only for ShowIt?
Great advice, but you left out "cloud" backup storage - that is critical (IMO).
Ty talks about Cloud storage options in his video! Trying to keep these short and simple!
great commercial!
Is Cloudspot similar to Zenfolio?
And how does the 50% off work?
@@zachandirene You get 50% off your first year of CloudSpot (yearly or monthly subscription)
And please let it not be as much of a hot mess as Honeybook. I used that service for exactly one client. Never again!
I don't see the link anywhere for the hard drives you mentioned!!
It's in the description! www.amazon.com/SanDisk-1TB-Extreme-Portable-SDSSDE61-1T00-G25/dp/B08GTYFC37/ref=sr_1_5?tag=theher07-20
