Yes and with replacement cats from rockauto.com - that complete "Y" assembly with cats was $751 delivered to my door, CA compliant. I had the van smog'd months ago, the guy looked up the numbers on the cats, all was good and it passed smog with flying colors
Seems there are few "Common Sense" things as there used to be. Helps when your first car is a 69 Rebel station wagon with springs through the seats. We all learn as we go along in life. Thankfully for the youth today there is UA-cam. Problem is it keeps them from asking their Dad for help and doing it together. Sad thing, few Dads have the skills or the time anymore.
$100 to "re-flash" your unit - another $100 for one of his computers - $200 total for this one but I'm sending him another spare computer I have for a 2nd gen Astro so he's refunding me for that core (when I find the time to get it out to him)
I would keep your orig ecu incase he changed something that might hinder passing CA smog. You nay need to swap out ecu before taking it in. For the cost of shipping you could buy yourself the obd2 needed to read and write to ecu while its in the car on your cell. Nice video if you are interested let me know and i will show you what 2 buy. Less than a benji
@@ewaltsauto yes i know in vehicle can be risky. Most of the time its because battery dies on car. Should always have charger hooked up if not on bench. Not meant bad at you just warning him about smogged vehicles in California. Most tuning is done to pre smog. Cloning would be safe for smog.
The vibration you mentioned could be worn front yoke on the driveshaft and worn 4L60E transmission rear extension bushing. The bushing if worn is a easy fix but if left can cause the rear Transmisson seal to come out at the worst time. Very easy to inspect for this situation. If you replace the rear transmission seal be sure to use the improved seal and point the drain hole down to allow any water, not get trapped in the seal. My 94 is hunting and seeking at idle so I plan to swap out the computer with matching numbers salvage yard computer when I get time to work on my project van some more. Thanks for the video, I may use his computer service in future. This is the hot mess I am working on. ua-cam.com/video/6a2jzWwrf_c/v-deo.html
all new stuff - More likely a missfire I just threw a code for - May have sorted it but got his with heavy fatigue and just tested positive for covid so I won't be wrenching for a few days The computer is working great, the lower idle went a long way to helping with the vibration
Hmm... I didn't have that issue at all, it's worked flawlessly for me - I did have to sync my system because of all the other new electronic parts I had installed... Bring it to a shop that can do a computer sync
@@AstroVanTribe I'll have my trusted mechanic take a look. I just put the old ecu back in just now and it started up again so that's good. Replacing the ECU the first time took me an hour. The second time took me 15 minutes if that. Moving the fuse box to the side is a must. Thank you for the instructional
Thank you bro
a thorough car repair tutorial is so rare with all these other videos where the guy is nodding off on cough syrup
Great information to know , thank you for making detailed videos on the all Mighty Astro van
Very interesting. Thanks for taking us through the process. It’s never easy. Life lessons
Nice can’t wait to see how it performed
Thank you for being our guinea pig! LOL😂 I may look into this just because of the tire size alone. But I like the Shifting upgrades also.
Good job. Makes it look easy. "A good mechanic woulda get it done in 45 minutes."
I was going to tell ya but then i watched and you told me! Cool stuff!

Hay Mike, Have you done a California smog test since you exchanged ECM ?

It took me a little bit to recognize who you were after watching this video. I concluded you are Sarah's friend from wonderHussey.

Try removing the battery first, will give you more room to work with
I love the vids bro
Interesting....may I ask $$$$$

lsdroid, pcmhammer, is pretty unstable, especially in the car. should only be benched flash even then they fail or don't write everything

@@slapaho1589 in cali any chances will fail smog starting jan 1st
That's amazing
Please tell me how you found out that your computer was the problem.
It wasn't a problem - I modified the van with 4:10 gears ans 42" tiers so I needed a re-flashed unit - I alslohad the shifting points changed
I spoke too soon! You know then...😜
Why didn’t you have to do a key relearn?
I don't know...
You don't need to do that for an astro cargo van, right?
@@jackcarterog001 I didn't

Installed the efurbished ECU and now my van starts for one second then dies off. My god. Why can't it ever be easy?
