This record is nuts, my PB was only 1h and 33 minutes on Steam version, never figured out how to play Japan version either. Is there some regulation in Japanese media against dismemberment? Like, Lucas’s hand doesn’t get cut off in the dinner scene, and the cop’s head isn’t sliced, just deeply wounded. I wondered if that was done to make it more palatable to a Japanese audience, or if it was some issue where they had to cut those parts to let them get a Japanese release.
If your wondering why its in a different language, its because this language has a shorter time to say the word in not skippable cutscenes and dialog. If you know what the language please tell. Also there is a lot less gore then in the English versions.
If I had to take a guess its because at higher frame rates things tend to interact with you more frequently..meaning they can hit you more (when he slowed it down where you pointed out its possible that he would have been hit 2 times instead of one or 3 times instead of two..you follow?). The slower the frame rate the less the game recognizes the hits. I'm sure I'm getting some of this wrong but higher frame rates in some games like Spyro means you don't jump as far/high for w/e reason. Just different interactions the game has with you is what it usually affects.

Japanese voice actors are all absolutely amazing generally. Voice acting is held to a much higher degree in Japan then almost anywhere else in the world. It's not surprising the VAs in this game are also superior to the English actors. This is why 99% of anime is far far better in Japanese then watching the inferior English dubs.

Also, as part of the game design, in some points you walk a bit slow, and retry fix that letting Ethan walk and run normal.
I honestly think dealing with jack right at the start is the hardest part.
Ethan has now engaged speedrun mode. All Bakers and Mold beware, he may glitch you through a wall by putting away his gun.
