Playboy 7 aka Platinum was a flipping beast on that synthesizer & production board! Shame Doomsday didn’t get the respect & dues they were owed in 1997 for this underground album that stood out so hard because it was so dope and so different from everything in 1997-1998!

I met Playboy 7 in Portland chill dude. I remember getting his solo cd at Sam Goody😅😂
That solo is a banger. I remember in 1999 I tried ordering the “X Rated” cover from my local record store. But unfortunately when it came in, it was the retail cover. I actually still have that OG CD 💿. I wish Doomsday would have came out to STL when they toured in 2010.
I fortunately finally got to see Brotha Lynch Hung at this private club - party in like 2011. There were like a invited 30 people there at this tiny club in East STL. It was pretty dope and Lynch was cool as F--. He chilled and drank after the show.
Playboy 7 was an amazing underground producer. Him and Doomsday was definitely before their time…
I remember bumping PRAY 4 ME in 1997 in my beat up convertible 1987 5.0 Mustang. People would always ask me if I was bumping ICP because I guess they thought Eklypse was sounding like ICP at the time.
But basically in the Midwest, most are closed minded when it came to underground rap in the 90s.
