I really liked his train of thought about sustaining wood. Of course, he is a business man, but he also seems to care about the future of guitar making. Very respectable, Bob!
I own Taylors because they are great sounding guitars and, by far to me, the most "playable" out there. I understand and appreciate sustainability but I have noticed that seems to be all Bob wants to talk about the last 2 or 3 years. I do think he is a really great person.
well with Andy Powers heading up guitar design now Bob has more time and his focus has been on this so the company will be around well after he is gone!
That is why I am considering a Taylor, great plugged in sound and great ideology behind their guitars.
Oh and Tony, great Interviews man!
I really love Bobs passion for guitars and sustainability. What if all companies saw it like this? A lot of them pretends to, but few actually walks their talk.
That said, from another perspective, is it sane to produce that many new guitars right now? There should really be enough guitars on this planet to last a couple of generations. A lot of them are just sitting around unused. Even old broken guitars often have excellent aged wood that can be used to make new ones.
Yes! I love Bob Taylor's insights!
Awesome interview! Must be nice to sit down and talk with a guitar legend! Thanks really enjoyed it! Sam
Bob's the man!
Awesome!
Green thinking guitar man,I like it.
Moze taught Bob everything he knows.
That's all fine and dandy, but what about the other guitar manufacturers like Martin, Breedlove...they too have to be on board with this same kind of mentality of sustainable resources, otherwise Bob Taylor's ideas will be all for none. Guitar manufacturer Godin in Canada are recovering old timber that sunk in rivers back in the days of logging, or that have fallen naturally to build their guitars. It really is important that everyone (companies) becomes more proactive in sustainable forests to keep guitar building, among other things, something that will be around a century from now.
SINGAPORE is on the equator
Bob Taylor is a business man
Please try red wood (sequoia trees)
I own a Green kinda tree saving Martin guitar
Lookin buffer than usual Tony.
I never really thought about the sustainability, who else is thinking in 20 years guitar's will double or triple in in cost due to climate changes and having to go green, even more reason to save up for a Taylor lol
