Azura is a good size ship, not too big that it feels overwhelming, but not too small that it doesn't feel like there's much on board! Totally agree about Sindhu, will have to try Epicurean next time!
Just got back from two weeks out of Malta. She's a lovely ship. no issues as far as we were concerned, just a lovely holiday, good crew and entertainment staff. Go for it!
Really glad you had a great cruise on her! 😃 Other than her being a bit tired, we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on Azura! But after her refit next year, we're sure she'll look a lot fresher. You certainly can't complain about a good value cruise with P&O!
We went on our first cruise on Azura at new year in the Canaries. Some ageing to the decor but generally really impressed, no complaints whatsoever, great time.
Sailed on her last year and maintenance issues do show - Think you’ve been fair … But we would add that our meal in the Epicurean on Azura was the best meal we’ve had at sea! There are good points too .. Let’s Hope P&O invest in her and bring her back to pristine condition.
Yeah, we felt there were a lot of maintenance issues which we've never noticed on ships of a similar age, or even older before! So tried to give a fair, balanced review! We didn't dine there, would have loved to have tried it though! Fingers crossed that P&O go ahead with the refit and restore her beauty! 😃
Haha you guys are nuts, love it very funny. Really fair review she really did look tired in places. As you say refit in March next year but I think it’s only for just over two weeks be great if P&O could have them in for longer to do so much more! Cheers
Thanks for watching! 😃 Just trying to be ourselves! 🤣 Not quite ready for the asylum yet! We're looking forward to seeing her after her refit! Hopefully they can fix quite a bit of the ship in that time! 🤞
We love the classic look of her, but sad that the maintenance is poor! Thats appalling when you think k the Explorers are 95,96 !! She really needs a refurb! So glad she's getting a dry dock and full makeover - no wonder they're not fixing her up. Great video guys 🍻
She is very classic looking indeed! But as you say, the Marella ships are much older, and look so much fresher and much more well maintained! We look forward to seeing her after her "makeover"! Thanks for watching! 😃
Will be going on Azura soon..used to Royal ships and have been on Arvia. Looking forward to trying Azura. I know she is older and smaller but the itinerary is good..
Which itinerary are you doing? Overall, we had a great time onboard Azura, once they've sorted all the issues in the refit next year - we'd love to jump back onboard her! Hope you have a great cruise! 😊
We absolutely loved Azura in Feb this year and back in Jan 25. It was our 1st cruise and our 2nd booking is a transfer from an aurora booking as after reading many blogs we decided azura suits us much better.
That sounds great! 😃 It's lovely that you enjoyed her so much that you are going back on her again next year! What concerned you about Aurora? We've never sailed on her, but thought she was quite a popular ship in the P&O fleet?
We had our first ever cruise on azura and loved every minute..I agree she looks a little dated in places but that didn't affect any of our amazing holiday...we booked for 2026 ! X
So glad you enjoyed your first ever cruise! What made you choose to book one? Even though she is dated, we wouldn't mind cruising again on her, we had a great cruise! 😃
I'm disabled and wanted to see more countries the cruise allowed us to do that...they accommodate disabled people so well hence we booked azura again for 2 years time xxxx
That's fantastic to hear regarding how well they accommodate disabled passengers. We hope you enjoy your second cruise as much as your first! Where are you sailing to next time?
Great question! It really depends on what kind of drinker you are. If you are a medium-heavier type drinker, we would recommend a drinks package. Though which one depends on your drink preferences e.g. speciality gins, 250ml measures of wines etc... If you haven't watched it already, we do actually have a video where we discuss P&O's drinks package offerings in much more detail, and we also give a breakdown of how many drinks a day you would need to break even - please see the link below. Hope this helps! 😃 ua-cam.com/video/2cLp4oAb5RA/v-deo.htmlsi=hJWWQzbEfR5t53m4
Mixed feelings re azure actually like the ship bar the odd dead end 🙄 haven’t been on for a few years now but the out of order signs are the same as far back as 2011 ( not many lessons learnt there🤷) just a shame p&o standards have dropped significantly since the last MD change and Covid . Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! 😃 That's shocking that the out of order signs were around back in 2011! The ship would have only been a year old! 😲 It is a real shame.....
my favourite cruise ever was on Azura...but i think the issues are basically with P&O nor the ship...14 years is not a great age for a modern cruise ship but they dont seem able to offer the wow factor anymore...you cant compare Celebrity with P&O who have different target customers and completely different standards...and everyone has a different view of things...i dont choose P&O anymore but equally i wouldnt want to try Virgin, not because of anything wrong with Virgin its just not my demographic or character...good video tho
We haven't sailed on other older P&O ships, so can only compare it to our experience on Iona - which is obviously a much newer ship! Would agree with P&O not offering the WOW factor compared to other lines we have cruised on. What makes you not want to cruise with P&O anymore? I guess that's the beauty of cruising, plenty of different lines and ships to choose from, no matter the demographic. Thanks for watching 😃
@@NamyDoesCruising p&o has been, in my opinion way behind the other cruise lines since the pandemic...food, entertainment and service has been shocking...other lines have just literally cruised away...my lasting impression has been of a holiday camp at sea instead of a luxury experience
@@singingbuddhakaraokeWe've only cruised with P&O post pandemic, so can't compare sadly! Although, have heard a lot of comments saying exactly the same as you have. Which is sad to hear! ☹️
@@NamyDoesCruising don't get me wrong I'm not posh or anything but when I get better food at my local cafe, that is not what you go on a cruise for...and entertainment wise are they still showing the astonished show...if so I saw that on azure in 2018
It’s the type of ship that could be great, with 100 million spent on it, and due to the age of the ship you can get a rather unpleasant smell of sulphate from the emissions!
We definitely agree there! Just felt she needs some love and attention to make her look great again. Have heard a lot of people mention about unpleasant smells on her, although can't say we noticed! 😂
the ship is shit thats why it gets the bad reviews they are cutting everything all the time other cruise lines are far better as they cater for more international passengers p and o cater for uk who will take any old shit and they know it . they would never get away with it sailing out of places like miami .
Assuming you're not a fan of P&O then?! Interesting thought about international passengers not putting up with it across the pond! Although the cost of a P&O cruise can be much less than other cruise lines also? Not that that's a good reason for poor maintenance etc....
I love the Azura. It’s the perfect size. Just been on Arvia which is huge and can carry too many people. Azura has the best Epicurian and Sindhi .

I have seen that the Verona in the evening changes to an Italian Trattoria with waiter service. Is this true?
This didn't happen on our cruise. But can't speak for previous or future cruises!

I have just booked onto this ship for Aug 2025.be good to see what changes will of been done during the refit
We'd be intrigued to see too! With a few tweaks, we feel it would make a huge difference to her!
The ship does look a little tired. Who are you guys thinking of sailing with next?
Funny you should ask! We are going on MSC Euribia in 5 days!! Where are you guys off to next?

I have heard that refit in 2025 had been postponed because it has been given to Britannia just before its 10 year birthday cruise.
Oh! That would be a real shame for Azura. But obviously good news for Britannia! 😃
