i catch your drift. this was post HS to me. just after i got out of that hell hole of a school. i remember going to shows with the high socks thinking i was cool as shit. this korn album was ok, but nothing compared to their first couple when they were lesser known. went to their shows where staind was the first act. that is a good show for the money. korn and staind on the same tour. cant remember the name of the tour. i'm sure i got the tee shirts in totes somewhere.
I bought this CD thinking freak on a leash was on it, I didn't realize this came out afterwards til I listened to it all the way through. This is my favorite Korn album in whole, every song leads to the next, it's hard to listen to one song without the next!! Truly a masterpiece!! Forever Korn!!!!

Underated album.
@@DrBanzaiPhd totally agree
@@DrBanzaiPhd no. its not underrated, on the contrary.
Yes like MEtallica's black album, it brought in a ton of new fans, but was also the exact point at which they turned to crap. Issues was a major style shift from their previous stuff and it's just not interesting. They started doing that whole singing in an echo chamber and cat whining crap and got away from the sound that made them rise to fame in the first place. This album is OVER rated, not under rated.
@@Raze120 its fine with me that you like contrived bs music. Most people do
After the nu-metal exposure in my early teens, I went on to other genres within metal, and I've heard it all -- but, with that exposure I realize with a greater scope how unique Korn's sound was with this album (and obviously, as a complete entity.) It's nice to come back and re-visit in my 30's; I'm glad we all can.
How Korn managed to become mainstream is a testament to their greatness. They are so dark, uncomfortable, raw,and cathartic. It’s truly remarkable.

Reading this comments, I'm happy to see this album getting love after all these years. I loved it back then but I remember a lot of people hating on it because it didn't sound like FTL. Of course, in retrospect, I think most of them were bandwagon fans that only actually liked "Freak On A Leash" and "Got The Life" because they were popular. Real Korn fans know this album is great.

honestly what do we need to get some good new music these days, a few years on drugs and your band leader to be depressed? cuz i've noticed this pattern, its like the best stuff comes from the worst times for said band (NIN, alice in chains, nirvana, korn, BMTH (tho recently, they are back to business in my books) metallica, megadeth etc etc)
