An interesting discussion on an important subject , quite a few issues are not raised , such as professional choices or trade union discipline

Great discussion but “Why should Iit only be women that should bear this cost of having children whilst their partners don’t have to bear the cost?”.. do you really think that most men in a family situation are not spending and sharing the earned money/resources in order to best provide for the children? From what I see in most cultures worldwide, men are working hard to provide.. It (ie mums making a trade off with children) is a gender norm because in most situations it makes more sense for the woman to make the choices of how to best provide for her child at its earliest stages as mums are preconditioned to do this (eg breast feeding). I feel like Goldins work in the “greedy work” is super interesting and we should all work toward a future where dads and mums can equally find economic comfort and a balanced family life to raise healthy and well balanced children.. the incentives and norms have to change.. (as you ladies said). Thanks for the video. I’m learning as I go so please don’t hate on me for having a (slightly) different opinion
