With no offense intended to Chokin, the very first comment mentioned here on "no horse has dominated so much since Cardigan bay". Have you forgotten about Noodlum? Career 28 wins and 8 placings from just 42 starts (66.6% win rate, 85.7% place) , compared to Chokin's 34 wins from 59 starts (57% win rate, 76.7% place). Just about all of Noodlum's wins were by many lengths, one being 14 lengths and the Queensland Derby qualifier by 35 meters. I heard that race live on the radio, and he was in front and had the whole field stretched out by over 100 meters from 1st to last, as every horse struggled to keep up.
Me and my brother cashed a huge bet on Chokin in his 2nd (i think it was the 2nd one) Miracle Mile win at 9/2 with the on course bookies. Those were the days,we ended up on a train home out of the Cross at midday on saturday, we celebarated long and hard.

Reg was brilliant. I met him once, lovely man
So many memories, he was such a champ, still breaks my heart to see him collapse in Miracle Mile, worst drive ever!
His old adversary who could never beat him was a great horse too. Giovanetto, older brother of the great Holmes DG
