I always loosen the emersion heater first a little and then drain down the tank a little on top. Easier to open it and a little knock with a hammer would help it too 🤓 Also I religiously change the drain valve black washer just incase it's old and brittle so it would not leak when I fill up the tank 🙂
Ok daft question, as your only opening the top part of the tank to remove the old heater why isnt it just ok to drain tank down a little bit ? Why do you need to drain it off all the way it looked like ??
Lol, I love your vids mate but that's gotta be the easiest immersion removal I've ever see. I mostly get called to 50 year old cylinders were you litter all have to burn out the old paste to get the bugger free!! Isn't nice when you have plenty of space to work!
I have a question on the hot water outlet on top. I want to install an immersion heater but the 22mm copper pipe runs across the nut where the heater will be installed. Would it be okay to rise the pipe up about 6" to make room for the heater? or is there a reason why the 90deg bend is thigh to the top of the cylinder? A Great tutorial by the way
Love it my fav new gas engineer plumber
Gas 🤔🤣 won’t see much here pal haha
@@mmplumber I see it like a coin plumbing and gas lol just got to flip it but love the pipe bending and techniques and tools
@@xclusive463 thanks dude I’m planning on showing more pal so thank you and stay about 👊👊
Eres el mejor , estas en todos los detalles , tenes todas las herramientas, hasta la palita y cepillo de basura 😂😂👏👏👏
Haha things you don’t see from a electrician 🤣🤣
Well done boss
Keep on
Personally I like to turn the water back on as I’m making up the immersion, gives a sense of rush ,something new to your day
Haha race the water
Человек! Ты гений! Как ты все аккуратно и качественно делаешь! Респект!
I try my best with some finesse

Haha! Hammer time techers! Yeah I prefer the leverage over clobbering time!
Just a little knock 🤣🤣🤣
Nice and clean work. Really nice to watch and entertaining 🙂 thank you 👌👍
@@AlexRocks24-7 appreciate it pal a lot!
In this day and age why hasn't someone invented a quick change immersion heater, this practice is so out of date.
What was that pump doing on the hot outlet? Didn’t look like a bronze pump and not a shower pump.
Secondary hot but they fitted a normal pump 🤣 it’s lasted 5 years makes me wonder why they make us pay over £300 for a bronze

Mate, when you use the drill to brush the thread at 2:45, the dirt go straight down to the cylinder… any solution?
Plug the hole with a wadge of rag to stop ingress!
What’s that Grundfos pump doing on the outlet, doesn’t look like a bronze pump according to the colour (mustard for bronze)
No idea mate it’s been there for years
Was also thinking what the hell is that central heating pump doing connected to a Surrey flange?? Strange lol

Should be bronze pump if being used as a circulator
@@gavinbiard3745 after 50+ years in the trade that’s what I thought
Does that paste set solid? Just wondering if you ever regret it when you go to replace? I normally silicone the seal and the thread
Love your videos. Just wanted to know what make and size of the big water pump pliers you used.
What paste do you use in the fluxuator?
What’s the strap that you use on the drain hose to keep it tight???
Looks like a plastic tie! A jubilee clip would work also!
Do u know of low density quiet heating element?
Where do you get the red wire wool ?

Nice job , How much to charge for the job like this plz
£150 easy
Tks with parts or not ?
I’m new in business so asking rough prices for the jobs
Wouldn't do that for £150 no way under value the trade and rising costs of business minimum £200
👍👍
Thanks dude!
What kinda tool is that to remove the element !!
Didn't stick a single screwdriver in the insulation, inhuman self control.
Haha oh yeah that’s an apprentice thing!
Hol van a magnézium anód? A vízkő benne maradt?
Only only 2 think I do different is I always put heat on the immersion and I always change the drain off washer
If I was proper struggling I would get the lamp out
A little bit of extra pointing compound won't do any harm lol better safe than sorry.
Always mate, a lad used to always put a couple wraps of ptfe as well hehe
Cheeky bit of plumbers mait and jointing compound and silicone. Am I righhhhhhhttt? No
@@lxp only paste mate not plumbers mait 🤣
@@mmplumber 😂 sorry, I just wanted to join in with the other back seat plumbers
Isn’t this under g3?
No 5G now the masts are very high
It’s vented I don’t know about g3 with vented
Nai put pins to resistance power cable
You don't need plumber's mate on the gasket mate😮
This is jointing compound
Don't need joint compound it softens the gasket and combination of heat and water rots
I always paste ( jet blue jointing compound) any fibre washers, always weep otherwise.
Зачем столько герметика?
Viel zu viel kitt
Why drain it
Just put large towel or cloth around immersion to catch small amount
Fair enough but always good to have on just in case the cold feed is passing
💯 right 👍👌👏👏👏👏
I suppose
Never once in 26 years of the trade have I had a cylinder drain cock work straight away.
