Looks good but could have selected a more unique body. The c10 has been done to death. Still a fun for for the masses. Id stick with losi though. The trans brake and tsm are a fun option if you just want to watch the car drive itself while you stand there.

The 4tec is a great way to do it I have sent that thing around a short course track designed for the slash and It took every ounce of the pounding. I've bounced it off of curbs rolled it and smashed into a building and it has not broken yet

Yup, when they said Innovation, I actually hoped they'd deliver. That said, bravo to Traxxas for the 25 years too late improvements to the transmission (sealed and real geared diff and metal motor plate). Those will be very much welcomed, I need that transmission for my stampede
The trans brake feature is pretty cool. What else is there to change? Independent suspension, oil filled shocks, brushless, and it has a proper sealed diff now. Even if they made a new chassis using all new parts it wouldn’t be fundamentally different and it would still look the same with the body on.

For 500 I might as well go for the team associated dr 10. Not only is it cheaper it’s a much better drag car anyways. Plus that gives me a lot of money left over to improve it even more and make it even quicker.

I love Traxxas, but for $500, I'd rather just build one myself. Outside of the trans brake, they just took what everyone was already doing with their slash for drag racing and slapped fancy tires and a (slightly) upgraded trans in it. May as well just buy a VXL slash, throw bandit arms on it, swap in an LCG kit, tweak the trans and gearing and throw some drag tires on it. It's cool, don't get me wrong, but Traxxas has always been geared toward entry level models that can be modified into literally whatever you can dream up. I think they could've done better, or at least priced it a bit better.
@@noluckmatt The spur gear is a driveline component. Metal < plastic in the driveline all day. Those plastic spur gears strip so easily it isn't even funny. The vxl3s is hardly the best combo out there. Not even close.
Finally a drag slash rtr after years of us building them. A mid motor would have at least been something different. Not much at all to make a guy spend that much money on a non competitive setup on 2s lipo
At $400 this would be killer. BUT the only thing that's improved is the transmission, we don't get an actual drag ready brushless system we don't get anything actually new we just get a licensed body and a $500 price tag....come on Traxxas seriously 😆😆

Clipless is heavy. Drag cars need to be light.
It would require totally new moulding to fit and could only be used with the C10 body. Just not practical.

Most likely no. The new transmission as a whole will be a replacement for the current transmission though.
