As a Man United fan Newcastle put up a good game without quite having enough quality to really seriously test De Gea. I thought Karius played well & kept the score down made some bloody good saves as Man United could've easily won 4-0. Had Fernandes not been selfish Sancho had a tap in at the end. As for your supporters they were absolutely first class even when u knew you'd lost they were still chanting away. Let's be clear we Newcastle fans rightly celebrated being in the cup final at this stage of our progress. It's simply amazing to even be in a final and in poll position to finish top four when we were facing division one this time last year. Our next aim is to finish above Man U in the league. We're grateful for being up there back in the top flight at this early stage of rebuilding in any event. We were decimated by Ashley now God willing we're on our way to a succession of silverware. Can I just say that the Utd defence played an absolute stomer yesterday. Varane and Martinez solid as a rock, Luke Shaw was immense, what a delivery for Casemiros goal. Casemiro was absolutely world class all the way through, Fred did very well and Weghorst played his role like a guy who's taking his last chance at the very top. Brilliant performance

In 1973 man utd got relegated, I was little and I remember my Dad being gutted. So, I followed the club all over the place and I loved it. After many years, winning the odd cup, we won the league. I will never explain the emotions I had at Old Trafford that night as I never thought it would happen. Twenty years of my life at that point, all the taunts, all the heartache. My point is one day it will come, soon I believe, whether it is the League Cup, F.A. Cup or whatever. You just gotta keep believing. Because you will never experience anything like it again. In 1973 man utd got relegated, I was little and I remember my Dad being gutted. So, I followed the club all over the place and I loved it. After many years, winning the odd cup, we won the league. I will never explain the emotions I had at Old Trafford that night as I never thought it would happen. Twenty years of my life at that point, all the taunts, all the heartache. My point is one day it will come, soon I believe, whether it is the League Cup, F.A. Cup or whatever. You just gotta keep believing. Because you will never experience anything like it again. Well played yesterday. Keep Howe for as long as possible, because he will be the man that will do it for you.
