Thanks Jens. If we had your climate here they'd be outdoors all the time however winter does make things difficult for us in Canada so I'm glad mine can overwinter indoors. I'm sure the koi would prefer to be out all the time.
Definitely one of the nicest Sanke I have seen.. so clean...and the colours.. wow. I do love that 24 yr old female ochiba . She is thick... And that chag.. she is amazing.. What would she weigh.. I know it's rude to ask 😂🤣 They look awesome in the pond... I bet they are going to love the end of the week when it warms up Great video my friend
The pond is covered/shaded with a large canopy the keeps most of the direct sunlight off during the hottest time of the day minimizing algae growth and helping to keep the water at a comfortable temperature for the koi during the summer months. It also reduces the likelihood of flying predators, a.k.a heron, seeing the fish from above.
I've been very lucky and never really has an issue with blanket weed. The barley straw does work well for some people I know so hopefully it will work for you as well. I have pretty good shade cover for the pond so that definitely helps and I use a UV to aid in controlling green water.
Cracking koi Ken, great bodies, must be a great feeling getting them outside 👍
Thanks Marek. I've waited since last November to be able to get them all in the outdoor pond again and am so happy as I'm guessing they are.
Great to see all the koi back in the outdoor pond! Enjoy the new season, Ken! 👍

It certainly is nice to have them all back in the pond. They seem to be enjoying all of the extra space.

Thanks Terry. As far as I'm concerned the pond season has finally started for my koi and I. 👍🏻

They're happy and so am I now that they're all back outdoors and doing well.
nice to see them back out in the pond looking stunning
They've done well over the winter indoors but I'm sure they're much happier outdoors in all that additional water.
Beautiful as always. Beni on that Kuchi beni Sanke is very nice. Unlike my kohaku whose beni is crapping out. Have a great summer Ken!
Thanks Sid. The beni has always strong on that fish and definitely makes it stand out in the pond.
New Subscriber 👋 I came to see if you cover the outdoor pond. Great video Ken. ❤

Awesome mate 👌💪💪
Thanks Leon. A bit of work to move them but well worth it to see them enjoying the outdoors once again.
First 🥇😊
Do you get blanket weed in your pond?
I use barley bag that I bought from a guy but I also get a lot of sun as well
