I can’t believe somebody has a video already comparing the two! Great video!
Thanks for watching!
Class video lads, some very interesting results! Two great looking drivers can't wait to try both this season.
Glad you enjoyed!
Funny how I was like damn let’s see how this stacks up. No way someone already made a video comparing them… and I was wrong 😅
Someone’s gotta be first… 🤝
@@GolfmagicPlus love the grind , here to stay 💯🙏
I didn’t try the TaylorMade last year because of all the press about broken carbon faces. It was down to Ping or Callaway last year and Ping G430 Max won out.
This year, I decided to throw TM in the mix and found I really did like the carbon face sound and feel.
I’m starting to show my age with hip and back problems and a nagging trail elbow, and my swing is now in the mid-90s on a good day. With that being said, I had the best results with the QI10 Max. I got more roll out from the AI Smoke and G430 Max 10k, but the QI10 Max beat out the QI10 standard and the rest in carry. The standard did have just slightly longer total yards, but I’ll take a little extra spin for straighter ball flights. QI10 Max is in the bag for this year, and first round was 8 of 12 fairways hit (5 & 6 iron on other two dogleg fairways).
I've found more and more people shifting into the Qi10 Max, with different swing speeds etc. I'm not surprised you loved it, it's one of the best of the year for sure.
I was taking the callaway 8 to 12 yards further…, the sound and feel is much better with the callaway…..🤙
good comparison. I wish that you would put your best foot forward and fit yourself for the drivers. Looks like if you just moved the weight on the Callaway you would have been straighter and longer, but I get it.
The fitting specific videos are coming very soon! Appreciate what you’re saying though, a fully fitted model of each might make it a different story, but I wanted to be fair and have them the same set up
great review I think this years Driver lineup is gonna very competitive across the board will be tough to choose which brand to go with just wish the prices were not so outlandish 800-900 canadian for a driver is getting pretty steep cheers all from Vulcan Canada
One year doesn’t make too much of a difference, just buy last years drivers. Often times golf town has Demo clubs still in their original packaging (40% off new driver) and then further discounts as well sometimes. I bough the Aerojet driver for $335 CAD a few weeks ago, don’t fall for the hype of $900 drivers
I echo this comment, there are great deals to be had of drivers of old and the performance isn’t that different
@@GolfmagicPlus i see your point but its so hard to wait a year for something you know you want so badly...lol
I’ve made the switch from tayloremade to callaway for the first time in my life
Interesting! Let us know how you get on
Why is it in the simulator comparisons there is no collaborated data from all your strikes with the Taylormade? Every standard deviation is 0, it appears you cherry picked your best Taylormade strike and went with it.
As I said in another comment, not sure why the STD deviation is 0, I hit about 25 shots with it trying to find the fairway! It wasn't just one shot. I'll show the table of shots next time and strike pattern.
@@GolfmagicPlus I'm sorry, I must have missed the clarification!
No no I’m sorry for the mix up! I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again in future videos.
Thanx for doing a comparo straight off. The comparison of the drivers matter for all except for the loyalists. The thing I love about Callaway and dislike about TM (though their colorway is spectacular this year) is the shape, to me it has a bit more of a pear shape with a bulbous toe section. I prefer a more compact triangular shape.
Spin is always the defining matter in distance on these tests
TaylorMade clear winner
Faster ball speed and way to much spin still longer than Callaway
You need a lower spinning head around 2k
Yep, the LS probably more suited for me
Great video, Was there a supply issue with why you didn't compare the Qi10 Max to the Smoke Max ?? From what I have seen of other videos the Smoke Max is a more forgiving club but has less distance than the regular Smoke. Would be interesting to see a head to head of both LS models with your swing speed , That would be awesome.
We’ve got a a low spin test coming soon and it’s a LOT of fun. You make a great point in regards to that comparison. Weirdly enough, I don’t feel like Callaway has a direct competitor to the Qi10 Max. Yes, the name of both might make me sound like an idiot, but if we compare models:
Callaway Ai Smoke 💎💎💎
Callaway Ai Smoke Max (flagship model)
Callaway Ai Smoke Max D (draw bias)
Callaway Ai Smoke Max Fast (for slower swing speeds)
TaylorMade QI10 LS
TaylorMade Qi10 (flagship model)
TaylorMade Qi10 MAX (most forgiving model)
Part of me thinks the best comparison would be the Qi10 Max against the Ai Smoke Max D! But Im really not sure. Hope that helps!
You have it mixed up mate - unlike previous models Callaway's Ai Smoke line does not have a regular smoke and a smoke max. They have, in order of skill level, 1) Smoke triple diamond (elite players), Smoke Max (standard players), Smoke D (to promote draw), and Smoke Max Fast (for players with slow swing speeds).
As the Smoke Max is Callaway's standard/regular driver this year - comparing the Qi10 to the Smoke Max - is actually comparing apples to apples. If he were to compare the Qi10 Max to the Smoke Max, it would be a mismatch.
@@GolfmagicPlus sorry didn't see this reply as I was typing mine - great video!
@@matthebert3373 , You are absolutely correct , I stand corrected. I should have said the Smoke Max D driver instead of Smoke Max and in that case you are also correct in the comparison test.
@@GolfmagicPlus Thanks guys, I'll be looking forward to that. :)
Same shaft or different shafts?
Same shaft!
Would love to see SIM2 vs QI10 see what the forgiveness and numbers are . Cheers
We were just talking about this actually. Comparing it to sim/sim2, so we’ll defo do something soon!
@@GolfmagicPlus awesome I have a sim2 max because it’s a normal size head and has extra forgiveness , so love to see it against the QI10 Stanfard as the QI10 max is a very large head, looks are important lol. Please put those 2 head to head . Cheers
Not sure if you're following Rick Shiels' secondary channel H.I.T Golf - but he has released a video yesterday comparing SiM2 vs Qi10 and the SiM outperformed the Qi10....for him anyway.
Most folk will stay with the brand and just want to know if the driver they bought 3-5 yrs ago has been bettered! No-one seems to do that!
the ai smoke logo on the crown was easily the worst design decision since the square driver
How come you aren't testing the Smoke Max against the Qi10 Max...?
Seems like comparing apples and oranges in a way.
TaylorMade themselves are saying, that it is their Qi10 Max, that has an MOI of 10K.
Have a look down in the comments and you’ll see why. The Qi10 Max is not a direct comparison to the Smoke Max
@@GolfmagicPlus correct. Just because they are both max doesnt mean they mean the same. Its a different brand lol
Qi10 is goated
U should of did the regular Smoke , the max is 20 yards shorter...
The Max is the regular smoke.
Jesus Christ is Lord, Kinga and Our Savior!
I change my clubs every year Which one is better neither . I will not hit new club any further. It’s personal which you like the look of. So if you drive a Mercedes at 60 mph and a ford escort at 60 at mph for 30 minutes which one arrives first. Well both at the same time. Upto you
Yay 🥳
2023 Driver will cheap as dirt soon 🤭
Ur also a Type of Customer the Industry Produces ans calculates for.
Genius right?
But let you feel the best prize
I can't believe you didn't compare the QI10 max to the smoke max. Wouldn't that be a more apples with apples comparison?
It would not, I explained it in another comment on this video as to why they are not direct competitors
@@GolfmagicPlus ah yeah just found it. So I take it the QI10 max is a lot more draw biased like the smoke max D? Don't get me wrong that was a great video! I'm assuming the regular paradym sold a lot less than the max so they did away with it. Hope you do the same test with the triple diamond and the LS
Low spin test coming soon!
try it against the new ping 430
Coming soon… 🫣
the only way to find the best driver is to go out to a fitting center and look at the numbers.
And we’ve done a video on that! Coming soon…
Too expensive here.😢 once out it will be Aud 1k.
I personally lean more towards the callaway. Simply because. Sim-Stealth2. All feel the same. Not a ton of differnce. This looks like a sims stealth. The paradym last year was great. To think callaway improved that is hard to imagine. That club was and is very impreasive.
I hated the Paradym and I've been a callaway guy for years. The ST Rogue was way better for me.
0.0 std dev on all qi10 data, so that's only 1 shot.....
Don’t know why it 0.0 std dev, that was about 25 shots worth of trying to hit the fairway! 😂
Pretty hard to make a true comparison of two of the newest drivers of 2024 with some of those shots that are so horribly in accurate spraying all over the place. I know humans cannot be robots, but on robot testing The results are going to be true and accurate which means that any human that attempts to do a comparison can’t be spring ball is way off to the left and the right and into the rough in the water and using those numbers as a comparison. Sorry but this test is totally inaccurate
Get what you mean, however we as humans can do things that robots cannot. That’s why brands test their new products via robot testing AND robot testing. This test is inaccurate compared to a robot yes, but it’s not an inaccurate test overall.
Robot testing won’t be able to show us how the forgiveness helps human drivers. Robots have a perfect swing every time. Even the pros can’t say that. So watching humans review is the best way to gauge a club. What you can’t do is just watch one review however. If you watch 5-10 human reviews it’ll give you a great idea of what to expect when YOU go test the clubs out and see for yourself what works best
Sorry but your swing speed and your results have no relavence to my 85mph swing speed
Sorry to hear that mark
This is a huge step back for taylormade. The usually most aggressive company in golf. Such a lame driver. Looks like it’s from the early 2000s. Quest for 10kmoi? LAME
Traditionalists (real golfers) will love it.
So dont take much with these comparisons. Rick Shiels was hitting the Callaway about 5 yds further than the Taylormade, so its the golfer not the driver, no matter how many times these clowns say its the driver. It depends on your swing and preference. No driver is better than the other. Look at the pros, they can legit hit any brand name and hit it pretty much the same distance.
Yep I get what you mean - but hitting the two drivers on the exact same day with no difference apart from the head does provide some interesting results, but it isn’t set in stone.
I think everybody knows that. People are interested in seeing how the clubs do and feel and look and like seeing other people’s opinions. I don’t see what’s wrong with that
They hit way better than Rick …..
@suggestedtigerr1151 if you're interested go hit them yourself.
You mean clubs who have had their maximum speed regulated by the USGA, their size limited, their shafts limited...for over 20 years don't go further each year? You mean they all perform almost identically year to year, and just get painted different colors? Shocking
Ok taylormade win👍
